I really need to try that stuff. I have never had it. I drink Casamigos reposado chilled and served straight up or on an ice sphere. Sometimes I shake it with pineapple too.

    Found this at Costco.
Don’t know why I normally passed on Mezcal, maybe because they use to include a worm. Anyway this has a nice smoky flavor and no worm.

I've been enjoying the Dos Artes line up....it's replaced all of my favorites.

Personally don't care whether there is a worm or not, but? I'm a big fan of Mescal for sipping!

I remember visiting one of Rick Bayless's restaurants in Chicago, and ordering a mescal margarita. No joke? Server came back no less than THREE times to make sure that was what I really wanted, because "mescal is smoky." YES - it is what I ordered, what I wanted, and it was AMAZING! :)

You guys are making me thirsty and its a bit early in the day.
My mother in law use to send me cases of Gran Centenario Reposado from Yuma where she use to get it sneak it across the border. I've never tasted their Ultra Anejo and Don Julio will always be one of my favorites.

The Don Private Cask Reposado is still my favorite, followed by Forteleza Reposado.

Yes. Reposado's are my favorite. They have some oak/wood notes, just not overpowering the agave and herbal flavors.

    Al,
Can you describe the Cuervo Reserva pictured ?
Say compared to the Clase Azur also pictured. The Azur is great, but a bit sweet.

I was surprised the Riserva was smoother than the 1942 , which had been my favorite . Most everyone in the group prefers the clase.

I like smooth , so no pronounced taste for me . I didn't notice the clase to be sweet but rather woodsy, Two different tastes imo.

That bottle of clase is the resposdo ,I am trying to get the anejo clase but no one in my area can get.

Thanks. The flavor nuances are what these are all about...similar to red wine.

The Clase Reposado has a ton of sweet vanilla to me.

The Don Julio Private Cask is more vanilla with molasses.

Casamigos Reposado is also very vanilla forward.

The anejos typically take on more of the barrel flavors due to the longer aging.

Exactly. I like the vanilla and caramel flavors in the reposados. I will have to try Clase Azul. I think I would probably enjoy it a lot.
