Fair points and sharp eyes! You got me convinced that it is a sticker which really is lazy work on part of the marketing department
I wonder how much Ferrari is planning on charging for this lightweight option, probably $8-10k since the painted shields are $14k :D

Interestingly the test mule had a similar treatment on the front quarter panels where the dark color "band" is on the Omologata. The front grill opening arguably has a similar look. Not enamored with the Omologata, like the 812 lines better.

Because of the focus on the 'new' V12 engine we should be in for a treat for the VS.
It should be a hell of a lot more than a simple upgraded intake!
The Ferrari website shows first the V12 engine and so did the invite.
    That's on purpose.....

The decal looks authentic; not created for a picture. It reminds me of the decal "Porsche" emblem on certain models.

The paint looks like a grigio version of the paint type Bianco Tartan with big metallic components.

I was told today by a very reputable source there will less than a thousand VS Coupes and about 500 VS Targas worldwide. They will be the most aggressive road car ever built by Ferrari and incorporate next generation handling components and new aerodynamics. The Targa top will fit in the trunk. The car will be shown to the public in April.

Sounds like a terrific way to end an incredible run. More than the end of an era ~ the end of an epoch (in automotive terms). Now, I better run out and get that Ferrari advent calendar to count down the days till April.

There is only one F12 of any variation in bare aluminum and that isn't it. Still pretty however

I wonder if the 812SV Targa roof will be based on the Superfast or the Spider? Or a completely different roofline like the Porsche Targa. The weight savings of not having a power roof should be substantial and hopefully it should weight something similar to the Coupe VS especially if Ferrari uses carbon roof panels.

Will the area behind the Targa top be a fastback or winglets like the Spider? I personally like the side profile of the Superfast better than the Spider and find the rear quarter window of the Spider a bit unusual. However I do like the look of the winglets and the small rear horizontal glass that opens on the Spider, which is a bonus when having the roof closed but the rear window open to hear the beautiful V12 symphony.

Next up the $64K question ...how much is this stunner going to cost , lets say in % over the SF/GTS? 30/50?

A manual lift off targa roof on the VS limits its drivability as a GT / road car for those owners who want to drive as opposed to stare at their car. Also taking into account the very low production numbers, in my mind, this creates a very distinct space for the 812 GTS from the VS Targa and makes the 812 GTS a very desirable car in its own right - as a true open top GT car - and I dare say potentially as collectible even if the $$$ don't ultimately bear that out over time given the quantities produced.

As to price, I’m going to say they will put something in it for everyone; it will be an expensive car (not Icona expensive but more than TDF expensive) for the shareholders, low volume (most suggest 812 for the coupe) for the owners and high technical spec for the owners and the brand. That way everyone gets ‘value’ from this car. I reckon they will want this to be not only an unmitigated success but also a statement about Ferrari, their history, their technical skill, their identity. The design and spec on this car promises to be very exciting!

A manual lift-off targa roof is interesting. They would clearly decide this for weight reasons but it also lends some additional styling opportunities with the rear deck. I have a SF and a GTS. I had planned to sell the GTS because I TM’d our Superfast and didn’t see the point in three 812s. Now I’m unsure. Because our SF is such a personal spec I may still sell the GTS but it’s just such a good car and now looks like it will be more of a stand-alone within the range, especially if news of a manual targa VS is true.
