Bought it in July with 11,000 miles, just over 14,500 as it sits. I’ll put 5000 on it this coming year minimum. Planning several road trips.

i’ll let owners of 599s confirm, but 23% is 77% of clutch life remaining. 7k miles of stop and go city driving on an F1 clutch is pretty good that would average out to needing to replace the clutch at around 30k miles of city driving.

You weren't the OP. The OP only has 3 posts. Then again, it doesn't make the conversation less valuable.

Bought my 2007 with a neW factory engine, clutch and Fi pump for $108,000 last May with 15,000 miles. Love the F1 transmission, but going to take the plunge to convert to manual.

Woah, new factory engine with under 15k? What was the story behind that?

Sounds like the BaT car that had a coolant line failure.

Had mine 4 years now (2009MY), bought it with 25k, now done 56k miles, just had a new clutch, wasn't gone but a master clutch line went and it was cheaper to do it now than in 5k miles time, so did.

Paid £110k back then, probably worth £75k now I guess on a good day but irrelevant as it's never being sold, but will add too at some point.

Love it, best car we've ever had and I'm a serial car swapper.

Was apparently a coolant lie failure---car leaves tomorrow to San Antonio for conversion to gated six.

Justin, I'm glad to hear you got 56k out of the clutch. I have 44k on mine and still has plenty of life. I'm going to replace the F1 relay in a few weeks with the Scud Ing Swiss unit. No problems just precaution.

May I ask what the conversion price will be and who’s doing it? Considering doing this myself.

I do not know about this precaution. Can you point to a thread or a link to the relay?
Just ordered a pair of them. One for a buddy who has a F430 F1 and one for my 599! I hadn't heard about Scud Ing until I came across this post, so thank you @George Vosburgh ! Seems like some pretty smart preventive maintenance to me. :)

NGS conversion is in progress - not yet finished. But I understand they have sorted out the major hurdle that was preventing completion. :)

You're Welcome Jim! I know the 360 and 430 use the same relay as the 599 and many of those cars have had problems. It could be the location of the relay in the cars that exposes them to heat but I really don't know. I've never heard of a problem in the 599, but I will be posting a picture of my original relay with over 44K on it as a reference once the new unit is installed.

George- Early 360s and 575Ms had a 30 amp F1 pump relay and that was prone to failure. In November 2003, that relay was upgraded to 50 amps and has not caused much trouble on late 360s, CSs, 575s, F430s, 612s, and 599s.

I used a friend's hgte packed 599 and to be honest I didn't feel any appreciable difference with the standard version. Of course, I would like to have the hgte package on my 599, but this is not a must. Apart from a few cosmetic changes, the most important feature of the HGTE package is the extra price advantage in case of resale.

EAG charges $35-$40k -- also includes a fabulous tune from Trev which unlocks power, torque and drivability. I am very pleased with what is now the last manual front engined Enzo V12 experience.EAG will install new engine and transmission mounts at a reasonable price as a part of the process-- believe me that on any 599, the original mounts are mush.

HUM? I have driven both and in my experience there is a huge difference. You probably wouldn't notice the difference if you are just tooling around town but the power delivery, shifts, and handling are all dramatically different.

You can do better than the HGTE upgrade just by tweaking the car yourself. However, the factory HGTE car is more rare and therefore more valuable.

I have owned both and I think the HGTE is far superior especially the front end.
