Wow that is pretty all added up...
Hey how good did you rear tail lamp painting turn out ?
I always thought that looked cooler in a way.

It's funny. I thought the painted look was original. The previous owner did the mod. I am thinking to convert it back to the original.

I have pondered that rear lens treatment any number of times. Surely wish the model had fully delineated the two lights on each side originally. But they didn't. And I like the look but can't bring myself to do it. Maybe one day I'll spring (about $800 per side!!) for a spare pair of tail light lenses and give it a try.

Didn't see that one last I searched eBay for those. Thanks. What I saw was

Perhaps I can find a used pair rather than the NOS ones. Then it might be worth the experiment. Get them painted when next I'm getting the front bumper undertray touched up. Much as I love my TdF, it isn't the easiest to match, and it sure isn't just a quick overspray to get it right.

I think perhaps a middle ground would be whatever is used to wrap cars be used to cover the extraneous elements. This way, if you decide to revert, I believe it should be pretty easy.

That is likely a great idea, Paul. Wonder if the metallic of TdF can be duplicated in wrap material. I'll have to look into that. Then it isn't permanent and can be removed at any time. Thanks.

I think so, I figure it shouldn't be too expensive to get to 4 small 'triangles' - add em. If you ever don't like em' peel em off.

One of the many electrical nightmares I am dealing with. This car has 2 DVD players and 1 CD exchanger which I already removed. It has some fancy alpine 6in DVD head units fitted from back in the days. Very questionable decisions by the previous owners. I am hoping to simplify the messy situation with an updated android head unit. I am upset about the whole modification done to the center console, the holes on the center vents for the now very dated integrated radar lights, the rotary knob on the switches panel centerpiece, and the horse on the dash needs to go to. I hate my car :(

From the photo. Am I only missing the CD changer carpet cover piece?

Very good reasons why yours is an excellent idea. Low cost and low committment. Worth a try...

Changed both the engine oil and gear oil today.

I found this nifty tool for our oil filters. This should be a good alternative if one decides not to use the HE tool.

I’ve had one for years I love, it’s three fingers and it constricts when turned left so it works with any size filter

    Looks familiar, :)
That was first order of business when I got my 550. Thankfully the entire system was set up independently from the oem wiring, so I was able to just physically rip everything out and all was in good order. Honestly to me your interior doesn't look too messed with, other than the prancing horse on the dash that's pretty "in your face".

Here’s my universal filter tool. I’ve used it hundreds of times on all kind of filters and it works great.

I like it... when I almost bought a black 456 I had decided I would get black vinyl and cut out to make this look... to me that is better than painting the original taillights and easily reversible.

With today's wrap materials, this ought to be relatively inexpensive to try, great color match, and easy to reverse with no damage. What's not to like??

My tail lights are painted by the previous owner. I don't like the look at all. The lens doesn't look symetrical.

I will try to fit the 550/575 tail lights on the car. I don't think it's difficult to do.

Calling for 550/575 owners. Could you measure the diameter of your tail lights lens for me?

    Here's the comparison.
Stock, 360/550 lights retrofit, and my stock painted.
I think the proper way to go is to retrofit the 360/550 lights with custom made light shrouds
