Hi, All. I recently had some interior pieces redone. I want to reinstall them, but realized that I'm missing part number 159389: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/159389-gasket-spacer.html Everyone seems to be completely sold out of this part, and there is no solid ETA. This may be a silly question, but do you think I can make a 550 one work: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/168955-gasket.html I realize reverse is in the opposite location, so will need to make some adjustments... Alternatively, what about just buying something like this and cutting it to make it work: https://www.mcmaster.com/nitrile-rubber/oil-resistant-high-temperature-buna-n-rubber-sheets/ Suggestions / thoughts are welcome... Do not want to put things back without the gasket -- apparently doing so is what causes the plastic surround to crack. suffyk
Dang that sucks. That gasket/spacer is critical for proper operation and lever adjustment. It also protects the console plastic. My local dealer had the last one I bought. I thought Dave at Sticky RX made them?? That could be wrong? I thought someone was making them?? Not sure you can make 550 work? Could maybe flip around, cut and glue? Will watch this to see what you do. Good luck. Another part I need to buy and hoard, LOL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep! They just emailed me back saying they are expecting them to arrive early April. I think I’ll likely order one, but in the interim I’ve ordered a sheet of this: https://www.mcmaster.com/nitrile-rubber/oil-resistant-high-temperature-buna-n-rubber-sheets/ Daniel at Ricambi guesstimated the thickness to be about 10mm.. will have a friend with a CNC cut the sheet I purchased to fit for now...
Weird, I just bought a 159389 like 6mo again from ricambi for like 20 bux. Kind of scary more of these needed items are going NLA
That part seems ideal for banging out on a 3d printer. The quality of the surface finish would not matter at all. If I had the printer I would make them for free.
That just involves taking measurements and building it in Solidworks or Sketchup? I will call some dealers and create the file if I can locate the part.
I 3D print daily, but I have no experience using those programs. Everyone says they are pretty easy once you get the hang of it, I just haven't made the time to learn.
