I don't know if anyone remembers big Kiwi Heavyweight boxer Joesph Parker? He was the one AJ beat to take his WBO title a few years ago. Anyway, Joseph fought another big Kiwi lad named Junior Fa last night in New Zealand. I watched the fight and thought Parker lost, but he actually won the fight via some strange score cards lol 109-119, 113-115, 111-117 It was a lot closer than that, and I think Parker lost the fight. They have bigger things planned for Parker, so it was a must win for him and he won.............of course. You could see it on his face at the end of the fight that he knew himself he lost and when he got the decision, his face lit up as if he was surprised at the decision lol Same thing happened back in 2016 when he fought Ruiz Jr for the vacant WBO Heavyweight title. I watched that fight also, Ruiz Jr won and they fought in New Zealand back then also. See the pattern there? Don't fight Joesph Parker in New Zealand, you will lose everytime via points decision. You need the knockout to beat him in his own Country. Joseph Parker understands he must massively up game to beat Derek Chisora this summer after controversial Junior Fa win (thesun.co.uk)
Canelo is too good to fight #1 contenders. Only Superfights and other belt holders should be matched with him. This fight was way too easy.
What fight? I didn't see a fight, all I saw was Canelo go in the ring for a light workout and go home.
Hi mate. BJS is very talented and very good when he wants to be. But.............he has A LOT of off nights and he makes himself look like an amateur. He even admits it in the ring in his post fight in ring interviews lol. I reckon he can give Canelo a good fight if he wants to, but I don't think he will and I reckon he knows that also, but is taking the fight for the big pay cheque, not because there is lack of options. He hasn't really fought anyone exciting in his career, so he hasn't had those big million dollar pay cheques and he is into the second half of his career now so needs to make some big money now. My fight prediction? I think he will dance around the ring for 12 rounds trying to get away from Canelo's power shots, while throwing out meaningless punches hoping to score some points to steal the rounds away from Canelo. It may or may not work for him. He will try and replicate the performance his best mate Tyson Fury put on against Klitschko and we all know what happened there back in 2015. If Fury stood in front of Klitschko, he ran the risk of getting knocked out, so Fury danced around Klitschko all night. Same goes for BJS. If he stands toe to toe with Canelo, Canelo will KO him. BJS will dance around the ring for as long as he can, but it's only a matter of time before Canelo cuts the ring off and runs the knuckles over him lol. So I predict an average fight with Canelo getting the win on points and it will be Billy Joe's first defeat also.
This one Hurts!!! RIP The Marvelous One! To me, the best Middleweight of my time, if not all time. https://www.tmz.com/2021/03/13/former-middleweight-champion-marvelous-marvin-hagler-dead-dies/
I had to watch Hagler-Hearns like five times over the weekend. To decompress I watched a bunch of Roy Jones Jr fights.
Chocalatito I felt did win the fight. Poor Guy. But in the big picture neither deserved to lose. Estrada was amazing. He kept moving forward and was prepared for this war. I would love to have seen a draw.
There definitely were ebbs and flows, IMO Chocalatito was the aggressor and moved forward for more rounds overall and landed more punches/jabs/power punches at a higher clip than Estrada but it was very close. Estrada stayed busy when he needed to. Glad to see the one judge who ruled it 117-111 for Estrada got suspended by the WBA, I didn't think the fight was that lopsided. Gonzalez was very gracious in defeat.
I missed this one, but read the results. Sounds like it was a very close fight and I was very happy when I read the WBA suspended that judge for the BS score card. About bloody time!
