".... Porsche also says that the new 911 GT3 has clocked a time around the Nürburgring of 6m 59.9 sec, making it more than 17 seconds quicker than the epic 991-generation GT3.
".... The manual version can sprint to 62 mph in 3.9 sec and hit 199mph, while the PDK can do the same run in 3.4 sec and up to 198mph.

most amazing thing is its several seconds faster ring than old rs on same tires, with less hp, and smaller wing! incredible. all due to new front suspension and total aero package. sounds really good too. blue color is non metallic so pretty special. i know its sacrilege but wish they would allow sunroof. wonder how the ride quality is. my 997 was horrible on street.

It's ALL about the Ring time. 6m 59.927sec. - 0.073 seconds under 7 minutes!

Pleeze. What was the track temp? wind speed and direction? what did the driver have for breakfast? :p

ok fine. But, it's not a 200 mph car? only 199? why didn't they 'squeeze' 1 more mph out? o_O

Simply an amazing car. Wonder what the RS will do at the ring? I presume it'll eat that Mercedes thing time.

Stunning car. Unbelievable that they managed to get that much more performance out of it. Shark blue looks great. Manual, satin black wheels, buckets and yellow PCCB for me, please!

curious if the GT3 Touring will be the better version? Thoughts? No wing on Touring is a plus if your not on the track. still trying to find an interior shot of Touring to see if rear seat delete is the only option or whether backseat is possible.

Porsche would not allow back seats in the last GT3 Touring. I tried at length and even had a discussion with Porsche CEO.

Makes no sense to me. it is a "TOURING" version and optional back seats would seem to be an obvious option that some would like. I would trade in my Turbo S in a heart beat if they also back seats in the next Touring.

I am typing this at Porsche Irvine while my car is being serviced. Owner says there is no plan for back seats in next touring but he has many requests and has sent them to Porsche Germany. We will see...

shouldnt be that hard to do it aftermarket. seatbelts might be complex but if want it for child seat, can probably make a harness type attachment.

no seatbelt/no problem: a little bit of rope tied around a waist ought to do the job.

If you search online there are people who have taken a GT3 and ordered all the parts to put the rear seats in. Some model years had the mount and anchor points under the carpet.

BUT there is a lot of concern around insurance etc. The car is listed as a 2 seater and many people have surmised that if an accident happened and you had someone injured in the back seat the insurance company could deny claim and potentially find you liable if a third party.

If not for those concerns I would have a Touring or GT3 with back seats already :)

Has anyone ordered a new GT3 ? This market is insane - I was shopping for a 2018 manual ( white ) - called on one yesterday with a few thousand miles on it - asking $249,999. A brand new 2022 starts at ~ $160,000 ( is this correct ? ) if you can get a slot for one.
