I once had a flat tire and the spare tire saved the day. I would not call it functionally useless. The car did look very weird with it installed.

OK fair enough but---where did you buy a roadworthy new tire to fit the K spare wheel?

If you get your intake air too low there will be dirt and humidity that problem has been seen on other cars.

The spare is useful it allows you to get home or to the right garage, I have been on the space saver spare on my Giulietta for 13 days now, waiting for the right tires, not an issue as I just drive 8kms to the supermarket once a week now with the curfew and lots of work but I am happy I had it! I just push a lot harder in right turns than than left ones right now;-)

That spare tire can be bought I believe, I know someone in France who has a few (just the tire).

For the rim try this company I met at the Padova show specializing in all kinds of rare rims, he seemed very resourceful; Cerchi auto d'epoca e speciali anni 60 a oggi (wheels for classics and specials 1960's to today) send some pics of a Khamsin spare and if possibel the dimensions.

PS: just saw the site is dead but that means nothing with a small operation like that in Italy, somebody should email him, not my turn this time.

Regarding air intakes you could always adopt one of these two forms, like Herr Lauda here at Paul Ricard in a 312T or the solution imagined and photoshopped by Ulf in Stockholm for his K 076 a dozen years ago;-)

Sorry it's Friday afternoon and it's been a long week:D

The link works for me... But with "www." At the beginning.. I think you missed the "dot" in the middle.

The second picture I think solves the other issue entirely being an external engine.. not air seal gasket needed...but visibility is affected surely?

Long day I get it... Tomorrow I will be with the car again so will see my routing options for the hoses. Noting the importance of clean air too (perhaps an intermediary large particle filter inline could work as long as flow is not restricted) I never had the hoses so I am ok with not matching... whatever helps.. it is all removable with no trace if anyone was more concerned than I. I do appreciate the ideas and content here. Always valued. Thank you all!

Oops sorry about the missing dot.

If anyone needs a space saver tire -tire only- someone in France has a few new old stock, ex owner of 018 in Toulouse, I can put you in touch.

Just tried to point out that a particle filter would be no help against humidity!

    Regards.

Maybe if there was a way to condense and force the air into the tubes, maybe use the exhaust gases to spin an encased propeller forcing the air into the tubes after it passes through a radiator like cooling box?

Very nice these low numbers! But no I don’t know what the number on the little riveted plate represents.

For about 20 cars I know what the number is on that little plate and based on that I think that for US cars the number on that plate is 2000 or higher, and for non-US cars it is 1000 or higher.

It’s not easy to see what the number is on your photo, is it 1001?

Agreed hard to read still ...but here is a cropped version. I believe it is 1001

First engine in a Khamsin? But not the first K to leave the factory? I wonder what 004 and 008 engines are tagged. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes, 1001, unfortunately I don't know the riveted plate numbers of #004 and #008.

What the number represents I don't know, but your number is in line with my theory that US cars have a number 2000 or higher.

Khamsin #1012 for instance has number 2006, see below.

Isn't that just a feed to the air cleaner? Would you need another filter ?
