Those are Mud-Eagles, but very similar to the F-15D with a few (many) additions and big GE engines. WSO in the back, too. The new F-15EX is a development of the F-15 versions we sold to the Middle East. The first F-15EX (20-001) has been turned over to the AF at Edwards AFB for DT&E.

Is the racket that the props on T-6 Texans make due to the tips going supersonic?

I was north of Tucson late one afternoon, returning to town from a visit to the Saguaro National Park, when I saw that Connie flying very low, obviously on a landing approach to an airport I couldn't see beyond the foliage! I headed in that direction and discovered the Avra Valley Airport, a place I didn't know existed! The "Red Baron" Stearman team was based there, and there were some P-2 Neptunes parked there.

I probably mid-spoke. Not sure any prop tips go supersonic. Anything above M.92ish starts making a lot of noise. An 88inch prop going 2850 rpm on a standard day is M.98. Very loud. T-6 is about M.96 with 109 inch prop turning 2250rpm

The S-64 was a great idea. It was first designed to pick up containers conformed to fill up the space behind the cab, but those were rarely used. It used the same drivetrain and rotor as the original S-65 Sea Stallion.

This has to be a modernized version of the Kasperwing from the 60's. I Knew the guy, Vitold Kasper , and watched many flights of his airplane. It was an all wood glider then and flew very well. Elevons for pitch control and differential displacement of tip devices for directional control. I have a drawing of it someplace.

E.Mc of Cosmopolitan tried that a few years ago.......he was later 'convinced' not to try it. If I recall, the ocean freight alone was >$250K., with no spares incl. :D
