My new-to-me Lusso is perfect in every way, except the driver's temperature selector is cracked and shows light at night. Trying to get it covered under factory warranty but dealership asked if I would still want to replace if it's not covered. After he told me the cost, I declined.

Let's get some guesses to cost. I'll post the answer later today.

I'd imagine Ferrari requires the entire unit to be replaced. I'd guess the cost is around $6500, because Ferrari lol

I was told that it wasn't the whole unit that needed to be replaced. But it costs $1600 to replace the knob.

I will make it a point to always be careful with the knobs!!

I understand Ferrari tax but that’s seems excessive. What’s the reason? Labor?

For a plastic knob that probably costs $10 to produce it's overpriced period.

I would decline replacing it as well. Better to apply the fund toward more exciting things, ie exhausts. How did it get cracked open like that?

Why would factory warranty not cover it?

Good news: Ferrari is covering the part.

Bad news: part being shipped from Italy. Will take 2 weeks.

So I decided to swap the Lusso for the 430 which was getting its annual service.

You're overpricing it at $10 production cost. More like a few cents IMO.
