    Gentlemen,

In the link below is a very interesting film from the 1952 Giro dell’Umbria. At the 0,52 mark, there is a Touring barchetta with registration R-16148 (presumably from Roma, but it is more often written « Roma » in its entirety). The caption wrongly identifies Pedini with a Maserati. Aldo Pedini did campaign an A6GCS monofaro in 1952 (I wonder which one by the way ?), but I did not know he raced a Ferrari. Or perhaps it is not Pedini at all ?

What do you reckon ? Thanks

    Emilio (?) Giletti with 0044 M?

    Anyone a better guess?

Aldo Pedini did not race an A6GCS -in this case the early "monofaro"- in 1952.
In 1956 he competed in an A6GCS that he had bought as a used car.

Giletti apparently had number 304, while the « mystery » car is 302.

Walter, I am not sure if you are disputing my naming of Pedini’s 1952 Maserati as an A6GCS (I did state monofaro) or that he raced a Maserati in 1952 ? The latter is a fact (I have at least 8 entries), confirmed by period reports and photo evidence.

Can you post one or two of the period photos (on the Maserati section)?

I’m sure I have already seen cars raced a few days before official papers...

Also most of the captions in the video are totally wrong: a Fiat 1400 sedan became a Fiat 1500....They confused models with categories.!
