So the last issue im trying to sort is squeeky windows mainly when going down Is this normal for these cars?? I actually bought and replace the other door seals both sides (it has 2 felt parts to seal outside weather) and its made the noise worse Noise is also worse when door is shut Its driving me nuts Its definitely coming from the seals inner and outer (mainly outer) horizontal seals on the door skin
The problem is it seems to be the horizontal seal, if i use wd40 it would make marks on the whole window There has to be a reason I dont think its normal However i dont understand why both windows do Is there an adjustment for glass that would fix this?
Silicone spray is the usual fix. Lightly spray the rubber or felt seals, then wipe off the excess with a cloth. I had this issue crop up on an older 308 GTS and later 328 GTS on occasion. That was the fix recommended by a technician I spoke with. Worked like a charm.
As i mentioned above use the 3m dry type silicone .. the wet type will be a pain Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
I guess the "dry" is misleading but here it is 3m has both wet and dry It is how much residue is left behind https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PJED72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_2ESMHW4K8FE1H0T1RP96 Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Not too bad. You wipe up the excess after application. Run the window down, then up, then down again, and on the return, I wipe the excess of the window perimeter. After that, it left only a minor trace when used, but wow, no noise and the windows moved way faster from reducing the friction
I appreciate the help however id like to avoid the spray as I believe something is worn or out of adjustment Happy to replace parts just seems like a mystery
Maybe if you post a video (youtube with link here) we can help further Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Wet Silicone spray worked for my squeaky windows and it increased the speed but I did have to wipe down a few times. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Silicone spray. I believe you are way over thinking this. There is little downside to trying this before anything else. Use regular silicone spray available at most hardware and autoparts stores, it maybe a bit messy to clean up. Or, seek out the dry silicone lube that may be less messy. Choice is yours.
If you to try to see if the spray as many of us have recommended.. spray a little water in rubber and open window ..that should show if, at least one pass, it will work Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
That was so poorly written ; Sorry I have to stop writing on my phone and use the website What I was trying to say If you would like to try to see if what many of us have told you to do works, try putting a little water on rubber and try opening/closing window. I am thinking that, even if only for one open/close, the water will lubricate the window to show if our recommendations would work.
I sprayed my whole window front and back with soapy water Marginal difference I also tried silicon spray and to stop even a little noise my window looks like 100 children sucked it Id like a proper solution as there is a reason for this No other car ive had needs to be sprayed
Sorry can't help any further without being in front of car .. if the nosie is coming from rubber not sure what else it can be except wrong part for rubber ( doubt it but worth mentioning) The thing is that both sides are doing the same thing ..changes that a track (inner workings) is the issue is unlikely I am assuming that you clean the rubber on both sizes (on inner wall facing window) . i know the outer ones are new Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Thanks silicon spray has now made the issue worse Im pulling these damn doors apart tonight and getting to the bottom of it Im sure there will be a fix
Interested. Have same issue and silicone didn’t work. Might try some gummi-pflege once I replace the battery. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Im pretty sure its an adjustment as i notice when window starts to go down the whole window tilts a bit Im getting doors stripped shortly by a professional and will have it fixed Ill post back what the issue is
Did the noise started after you tinted the windows? If yes, then clean your windows with ammonia free glass cleaner. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
