    I've just bought a 1977 308 GT4, I'd like to do some general maintenanace under the car, but I am a bit wary of doing damage by supportig the car incorrectly.
    Can any one tell me safe places to support the car with axle stands?

    Welcome to the joys of GT4 ownership.
    I support my GT4 with stands under the chassis rails. At rear end, it is between the suspension mounting points on each side. At front I support in similar place (but that requires removing the under panel). Alternative at front is to place a 2x6 across the width of the frame and then place the stands under that.

    I'll try to post a picture this weekend, it is time to detail my suspension for this driving season.
