I think it’s all personal. My car is probably as loud as anything but still not what I want, but if my dad drives it he will find it way too loud

Went to see a knowledge person that works on ferraris and he told me that the x-pipe as previously heard won’t make much of a difference, but that If I was to do only down pipes in the front and leave everything else as is, I could get the sound that I want out of this V12, so maybe I’ll stick with my favorite muffler and it’s my Novitec switchtronic and look into just down pipes, anyone here have gone this route ??

I was also told by the mechanic at a Ferrari dealer that x-pipe won't necessarily increase the sound/loudness (according to him x-pipe rather fosters burbles/pops) and that changing the mufflers was the way to go to improve sound/loundness.
Did you already swap the original mufflers? And if so, which make/brand did you go for (Novitec, Capristo, Tubi-Style, Larini, Frequency Intelligent,...) and what was your experience in terms of sound change?

I’m keeping factory mufflers for sure, since I already have the novitec switchtronic I can keep valves open when I want to, but where I want to make change is in the downpipes, still considering to go with 200 cell or cat less pipes with a proper tunning to take care of any warning lights.

It looks like it indeed. If you replace just the H-pipe with just x-pipe, you wont notice much difference. You'd need to change the mufflers too, or decat (or high flow cats) or both.

This is my first ferrari. I had a 2019 maserati MC before and I just removed the resonator for an xpipe. The car awoke. Thought would be something similar. Thank you for letting me know.

That is in fact the OEM section. That said, as another member mentioned, you will have much more result from a combination of parts. We suggest starting with the rear section and X pipe. Then, if you are really wanting that intense scream, the cat pipes :)

My Lusso has this but apparently the remote is not controlling it as it should. I understand that they need to remove the rear bumper to troubleshoot this. Is this complicated? Can a "normal" shop handle this, or should I bring to a specialist?

If you're local to San Diego we can handle this for you, if not here is a tip that might help.

Many of the times especially if the cars have a ceramic window tinted the valve module signal doesn’t reach as it’s located behind the bumper.

Typically what we do on the Lusso's is extend the cables for that inside the rear trunk area.

This shop installed my x-pipe and the remote valve switch. I drove from Las Vegas to have them perform this service. Excellent experience with TAG Motorsports.

I tried yesterday sticking my remote out the window and pressing it; at first I couldn’t tell much of a difference, but it seems slightly louder at low revs, so I think it is working now, but not certain. How can I tell? This is very helpful, and thanks. If this works you saved me a 5 hour trip to SLC to get this looked at.

It should be fairly obvious sound wise. That said, typically if you are at the back of the vehicle you should be able to hear the valve flaps actuating open and closed mechanically.

Thank you. I will try to listen hard and get someone to assist and record a short video as well to post here. I’m pretty sure it is open but not positive. Once they are open, do they remain open or do I have to reactivate every time? Thanks for your help.

If I recall, these default to closed when the car is shut off, and will need to be opened at startup.

I have the Capristo remote/ Kline exhaust. It defaults to closed very time the car is shut off. On a cold start opening/ closing the valves is obvious. When the car is warm and at idle there is a negligible sound difference of open vs closed.

Thanks. I will try cold start with remote out the window to see if it makes a difference. Otherwise, I can’t really tell a difference, but not sure if mine is working yet. If it doesn’t sound that different, however, once warmed up, what is the point? BTW, when auto start/stop is activated, does that impact things?

I recorded this short video and to me, I can't hear any difference. Again, per Portland Ferrari dealer Novitec Switchtronic is properly installed, but is not communicating with the switch. I have tried operating the switch outside the vehicle as you can see in this video, but I still can't hear any difference, which leads me to believe the problem is the radio transmitter not communicating properly with the unit in the bumper. I am making an appointment with Ferrari in SLC, which is 5 hours away, but hoping to identify as best we can the issue in advance. Per Portland Ferrari, in order to troubleshoot, the entire rear bumper needs to be removed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It very well need the bumper off unfortuantely to ensure all connections are proper, vacuum is not an issue, antennae is placed correctly etc etc. Total bummer, but more likely will need some digging. Keep us posted, hope it goes smoothly and its something simple :)

Thank you. Approximately how long do you think it will take the shop to remove the bumper and do the troubleshooting and put the bumper back on? Is there anything else I should plan on doing while I’m at it? Definitely like the sound to be slightly more throat here, but not obnoxious.

I would plan for 3-4 hours or so in removal and reinstallation. Then of course whatever the diag time turns out to be. Is it simply the valve controller installed currently, or are there more Novitec exhaust components installed?

I am told that it is just the nova tech switch that is installed that can be seen through the rear grill. Not sure if I should re-purchase the switch entirely to have present in case there is a malfunction with a switch that I have so that I don’t have to go through this process yet again.
