Just turned 50 myself and the 458 Spider was my birthday present to myself! Funny how much in common we all have.

I got my 458 Spider a little before my 46th birthday. Yep, it was my 45.8 birthday present.

If I recall, I think I got my 430 Spider as a 37th birthday present back in ‘07, the rest went downhill quickly!!!!

Well we ended up going in Chaco’s sandals (which are strapped very tight to your foot) and it was fine. We went zip lining for two hours, went to a “clear as a bell” river hole which had a 15 foot jump into the water, a rope swing, etc... that was awesome too. Hiked the rainforest and then went to the natural rock water slides. A little dangerous, but really fun. Ended with a tour of a waterfall and then went to Luquillo Beach to the 60 or so food vendors and had an incredible late lunch.

    10 on a 10 scale for a Monday!

Age 50 probably and most likely mattered, but something clicked in me last year with COVID. I thought to myself...I’m almost 50, very hard worker and successful because I’ve earned it, always wanted a Ferrari but never pulled the trigger. Why not? What’s holding me back? I could be dead next month from some crap virus I didn’t ask for...so why not?

Since that shift in mindset, my new Mantra is “Life is Short, Play Hard”. So far, I’m living up to it. 458 Spider in the garage. 5th trip so far this year, and we’re not slowing down. Headed to Hawaii, Dubai, Florida, Aspen, etc...all later this year. :). Probably about to upgrade my 2002 BMW E46 M3 Active Autowerke Supercharged beast and maybe my daily if something strikes me. Time to have some fun and seize the day.

So how do those thing handle in the snow? I assume you have to change to winter tires for it to be worth it’s salt. My wife’s Cayenne S e-hybrid can run circles around my Cayenne Turbo S in snow because of her all season tires. I can change the tires to my winter tires, but for a winter storm that lasts 1-5 days it’s easier to just drive hers...LOL.

Why is the Taycan crying? Is it because it isn't a real car??? I would cry too.

Yeah Luquillo food is hard to beat, plus you have the boardwalk. I am glad you had a good time. Yunque is one of my favorite places to visit, especially hiking to the top, trails and waterfalls.

I left sunny Florida and have found myself in New Hampshire.

That was taken in Pepperell, Massachusetts.

So on the 20” “all season” Michelin’s it is fine until standing snow. Then I am on Skis. I got up here end of January, so wasn’t worth grabbing snow tires for the few storms. Just don’t drive it.

If I still have it next season. I will be adding snow tires.

So A bit off topic… But I have never been to Puerto Rico and saw your response earlier. Always looking for fun places to take the kids. When you get a moment would you mind dropping a reply or pm me with the place that u are staying if you recommended it, as well as whatever outfit that you used for these activities above?
We live in South Florida, so it seems like an easy trip

    Thanks!

I also figured this out at your age. I got my 430 new in 2007 at 53 yrs old. Today I am 66 and just enjoying life and traveling. I have lost several friends and realize eventually you will either have health problems or die. Enjoy every day

exactly that is why I decided to enjoy cars so much early on. After being a physician for so long, I realize that really when it's time up, it's time up. All we can do is to choose how to die and what to die with. No regret.

Barely broken in for a Honda!! Post up pics of that bad boy!!!

We gave away the mother in law's Civic, a 1997, at about that mileage. Our Ridgeline is 242 K and still going strong.

Happy to do that Cole328! I may send it end of week after we are doing with all our shenanigans! Fun so far for sure, and as close as you are, it would be silly not to fly here. 1.5-2.5 hour flight probably.
