Next v12 coupe’

When do you think will be launched the future generation of the 812 coupe’ ?

 

Sometime in 2023 with some sort of Mild Hybrid assist
Hopefully they'll lower the center of gravity and provide
a more aggressive 4WS system to give it a more nimble feel
9500 rpm limit and Also shorter wheel base please

 

End of 2023 or first quarter of 2024

 

That would mean a 3 years gap with no V12 flagship coupe. That is unique in Ferrari history

 

2021 and 2022 will be taken up by VS models Then new car arrives 2023 sounds right to me

 

Must comply with Euro 7 standard.

 

Did they choose between the two different options?

 

Would that mean a hybrid is a must ?

 

Still so much time ?? Apparently both 812 coupe and gts is no longer possible to order ... I would have say launch beginning 2022!!

I mean a regular production V12 coupe flagship. It never happened. There was no gap between the 599 and the F12 no gap between the F12 and the 812

During the 60 last years, at any time you could enter a Ferrari Dealership and ask "Hello I would like to buy a V12 coupe"

During 3 years, between 2020 (End of the 812 production) and 2023, you won't be able to order a regular 812 coupe from Ferrari. it is absolutely crazy and never happened.

 

A regular mid engined V12 would be a dream for nostalgics.

I’ve just read the Euro 7 rules. I don’t see how any V12 could meet the rules, unless it had tiny capacity, which seems unlikely

unless Ferrari is exempt, maybe there will simply not be another V12 (after the VS)??

 

The Euro 7 rules are not yet agreed upon, still pending. Current expectation for Euro 7 adoption is late 2021:

So, that would explain the 2-3 year delay for whatever comes next because it will have to comply during its lifecycle.

And, the current flagship is the SF90, not the 812...that was a first from nearly 2 years ago after the SF90 reveal...

It will be quite curious if another V12 ever enters regular production...

 

Maybe they will tell the EU to stick it where the sun don't shine. There is a big world/market outside of the EU. You would think SE Asia has plenty of money and relatively lax standards...

 

I am not sure this is feasible. Manufacturers need a few years lead in time. They don't design something this month and build/sell it next month. It would be unreasonable for regulators to think it could happen.

 

It was not even planned . 812 SF was planned to be in production from late 2017 to end of 2022 as a 5 years production planning . I think Ferrari was presenting too many new models as SF90, 812GTS, Pista they had a lack of orders for 812SF . The production is almost finished not because it has been planned but for a lack of customers . They were starting with design and project for a new model since 2020 but they were not prepared for a lack of customers for that model . That’s why there will be a period where you can’t order a Ferrari GT coupe’ front engine with big engine . I doubt if a 12V will be used in the future it will be with a big displacement as the actual one .

The SF90 reveal is what destroyed the 812SF order queue, I have written on this many times, directly experienced it as it occurred, the order to build to delivery timeline went from 18+ months (for standard type build) to 3-4 months as nearly all pending 812SF orders were re-directed to the SF90.

Ferrari made a huge error in judgement, the SF90 reveal should of been in Fall 2020 giving the 812SF more than an additional year of a full order queue.

 

V12 Tributo as a stopgap..?

 

F12 tdf started in 2016 and there were plenty of 2017 F12s for sale when I was looking at them in 2018. Last year model for 812 coupe will be 2021 and very few of those.

 

IMO the people who dropped their 812sf order for the sf90 made the mistake.
