Just bought a 458

Congrats and you will absolutely love it! I bought my '14 last March, w/ 4k on the clock. It's a great investment, being the last N/A V8, last in class designed by Pininfarina, first and last designed interior by Schumacher, etc., etc. The 458 market bottomed out right before COVID and since has actually started appreciating as expected, for all the reasons and more, that I listed here.

 

I love your car with all the bits it has. I do get that it is yours and you will and can do whatever you want to to make it yours.
The more options it has does increase the value of it and its desirability. Unless a buyer just isn't fond of certain options, people would rather have a higher spec car as they know that they are getting something loaded than a stripped version. If you wanted the under door rockers to be all red, I would purchase some plain covers and have them painted rather than paint the CF ones you have. I am sure you could sell the CF ones for a good chunk of money to help add back to the savings account. No sense in covering up that beautiful CF pattern.

Congratulations. Looks lovely.
My 458 has the carbon under door cover and has been painted but leaving the carbon exposed on the lower part of the sill. That gives the look of what was the sports sill option. Makes it look sleeker.
See you got that from DL. Are you local to that dealer? Got mine from there last year and only live 10 miles from it.

Congrats to you both, love the spider i saw it in person a few weeks ago, make sure they take the tiny ding out the passenger door. I'm sure they will. Fantastic spec.

Great stuff. That CF side makes me look twice to see if it’s a Speciale because that was an option on them and may have featured on some early press cars. Worked well on a yellow car from memory.

If you’re using an outdoor cover, I’d highly recommend getting full PPF applied beforehand or there will be considerable mental anguish dragging that cover over the car when it’s not perfectly clean!
