My frunk rams have decided to give up the ghost over the winter period. I'm aware that there are almost certainly better options than paying the Ferrari tax on a part like this, so looking for any recommended stockists (in the UK ideally) please.
I just replaced on my 360 Spider. I can't help in UK, but bought from www.liftsupport.com and they are EXACT replacements. Hardware include and instructions on replacing. $34.90 USD each. 10.87'' Lift Supports Depot PM3725 Lift Support | PM3725-W PM3725-W
Almost any medium sized city will have a local gas spring strut manufacturer who can remake from an original sample. Shouldn't cost more than a hundred dollars for a pair. I've had several made up for 360 and 355's no issues at all. Nothing special about these parts.
Were they correct for the front of the 360 then - they're listed as F430 parts, but the 360 isn't mentioned on their site?
If you look closely on the hood strut, there's a white stamping of a part number on them. Mine are stamped 63701800. I order them at Scuderiacarparts for $27 each here in the USA. https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/part/12089/ferrari/63701800/shock-absorber-for-hood-support.html
Convert to the single system used on the MY08 F430. Part number 80136300, cost is virtually zero compared to the earlier type. Install on the RHS and remove the fixing nipples from the LHS.
Correct, liftsupportsdepot.com. Got the original part number, search by that and these were the result. Ferrari Part number 67508100. The number has changed 3 times over the years i think this is the newest number and autodoc.co.uk has them in stock.
