    V12s sound like wolves.
    V8s sound like bears.

Thanks Richard, sounds very impressive, especially that with valves closed it's as quiet as standard. I think i now know what i want for Christmas :)

My system is definitely not as quiet as standard with valves closed!

No way the system is as quiet as stock. Before putting sport cats I had only capristo boxes and its most definitely louder.

FWW- I'm expecting to receive my x-pipe next week

I've had a Capristo with x-pipe on my FF for about 1,000 miles so far. I really like it. I actually leave the valves open most of the time. There's so much sound insulation in the FF that I hardly notice. (Maybe my ears are going on me!) Outside of the car is a different story. It sounds great!

I think I read here that the X pipe actually will make it more quiet at idle than not.

    May explain ...

The one I heard had x pipe. Hope that clears things up.
Sound is subjective - without a DB meter you can't be 100%.
Also customers can spec louder / quieter turnings but I believe what I heard was standard. Certainly I was told that the x pipe makes a substantial difference in removing low frewuency resonance st low engine speeds..

Richard, this is exactly what I understood and that at higher rpm's you get a nicer scream

It's a much nicer scream than the standard exhaust :) getting a little technical (and there are sound engineers round here so they may correct my amateur interpretation!) there seem to be more harmonics in the higher frequency ranges, giving a richer more complex sound. If you want to imagine it, think of the sound you remember from hearing a v12 F1 car screaming through the tunnel at Monaco.

For me that's the sound that a V12 Ferrari should make in an ideal world. The standard car is far from a bad sound - the v12 engine music was A big part of the motivation for me buying the FF in the first place, but the Capristo just releases more of that beautiful sound meaning more of that fun more of the time... :)

Well said! The sound even improves over time as the system 'beds in'.

Picking up an FF that has valved Novitec exhaust on it. For higher pitch and louder sound, recommend decat or sport cat?

So my FF sounds great with Novitec X pipe and exhaust but I do want it a bit louder. Has anyone put on Kline sport cat on Novitec exhaust?

Yes, 100 or 200 cell sport cat will make a significant improvement to sound (ie. louder) :). Kline make great products and cheaper than Novi

I’m going to try to order Kline 200 cell sport cat.
I believe Novi is 100 cell and may trigger CEL? And almost twice as much !

Most likely even with 200 cell cats it will send a light, so will have to get OBD chip, I’m doing same on my Lusso, but for what I know it’s that the sound of Novitec on 200 cell cats is that much better !!!

200 cel with kline do not trigger a light. I know I got them. But u won’t pass smog with them until u clear the monitor which throw errors (invisible to you on dashboard and no odb2 wizard can fix that). You will have to drive for a few hundred miles for it to clear.
