    Hi all

I have a 1975 GT4 that is somehow missing the rain diverter that attaches under the engine compartment lid. Seems like an odd thing to have removed so wondering if perhaps the early series came without it?

I make best efforts to avoid driving in the rain but planning a longer road trip and imagine it won’t be possible to avoid completely. Has anyone had experience in the rain without this diverter? Looks like the plugs and one distributor would definitely get wet but not sure how it would be once moving.

This is the part I’m referencing. Part # 40149709. Not having any luck finding one in stock yet...

    Thanks

Yeah I was thinking they probably came without. Have you had any issues in the rain?

My thought would be fairly easy to fabricate one out of aluminum sheet. Did you try Gt car parts, I heard they recently picked up a parts car.

Interesting. I have a Feb 75. Seems like such an odd decision some PO made to remove it.

I thought I read somewhere here before the Euro cars did not come with it, but the US cars did??

Yes I’m considering doing just that but don’t have a good picture of what it’s supposed to look like. If anyone has one and could send a picture, that would be really helpful.

There was actually a revision in the TSB
To change early cars to a different style diverter. Maybe they were removed and not put back on.

Maybe they were thinking more engine cooling by removing it? Who knows

I just bought one for a 328. I am guessing it is the same. I haven’t installed it yet. I could take pictures of it.

If it’s not too much trouble, that would be great. Best I’ve been able to find are images like this that don’t really give a good view of the whole piece.

Can I ask where you found yours?

That looks different than the 328. I will upload a photo of what I have. I took a bunch of photos of it. I wonder how much a metal shop would charge to reproduce it if I took it in? I bought it from TRutlands.
