Hey folks, For those of you who have been lucky enough to see Rosso Coburn in real life. Would you say that it has any orange or rust undertones like Rosso Fuoco? I am looking for a darker red (Mugello was just to lifeless) but I want a red that more of a true red. If any one has some personal pictures they could share I would be grateful. I have seen most of the pics that are on Google and FChat but a lot of them seem staged or professionally done. At the moment I have select Rosso Maranello but looking for something a bit darker without orangey highlights.
Then that would be a good fit. There is little orange coburn Just as a heads up when you scan rosso coburn with a paint formula gun... It comes out as a mazda color.
When you say there is a little a little orange, does that mean you can see an orange tint or hue to it? Im not too versed in paint formula guns but are you saying this this color is the same as a Mazda red?
Oddly enough. Yes. When you do a repair on rosso.coburn you can't get the paint formula from anyone so you have to use a paint gun that will tell you the colors and spit out a formula. It also references automatically every manufacturers paint formula and it comes up as a mazda red. Who knew...
And for reference for anyone else who reads this... The Mazda formula matched the car perfectly and didn't require any tinting. I was pretty shocked. Now... It is not like ferrari choose a mazda color and then decided to charge 18k for it... It's very unlikely yet still entirely possible that they both came up with the same formula.
Thanks. You are clearly experienced in this, which is awesome. Sorry for my pushing on this but I have not been able to see Rosso Coburn in person and my allocation will be next month. I don’t like RC as it comes off as having too much orange. Are you saying that Coburn is exactly like the Mazda Soul Red. BTW my dealer is saying that Coburn is a 3 layer paint at 32k.
I'll try and double check tomorrow. The paint guns and reference names are often different than the public or marketing names. I'll see if I can cross reference it and get back to you!
Ha. It's looking like you nailed the paint color name as it is a three layer paint. https://insidemazda.mazdausa.com/the-mazda-way/design/soul-red-crystal/ For 32k I hope ferrari throws in a mazda.
I've had two Coburn cars. There is no orange or rust. This pic might be helpful. I was looking at paint chips for my new garage cabinets to try to find a red color. So you can see Coburn compared to some other reds. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And BTW, first time I saw Mazada red, it looked nearly identical to Coburn. Would love to see them side by side.
Also, if you're looking for darker than Maranello, I don't think that's Coburn. Coburn is lighter than Maranello.
Magma is similar to Coburn, but slightly darker. If you're going for darker, go with Magma. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi everyone. First post. Just ordered a 296 GTB and looking at reds. I’m torn between Maranello, Coburn and Magma. @U-Boat Commander’s Coburn photos look so good. I wondered whether anyone knows what red this might be?
I see Rosso Coburn with some regularity as the color’s namesake is a neighbor and it is a beautiful color. I believe this photo accurately represents the color. Unfortunately, I do not know the color of the car in the background Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To the OP IF you’re looking for darker0 have you considered Rosso Cordoba and my favorite Image Unavailable, Please Login Rosso Rubino? No orange or salmon ( Magma to my eye in the sun turns pink). Image Unavailable, Please Login Rosso Cordoba(Cordova) Rosso Rubino as well https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci0b6IEKyw2/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Some great rosso shades in this thread. I'm in a waitlist on a Roma Spider. Planning to order Rosso 70 Anni. Here's a Roma example with some photos: https://preowned.ferrari.com/en-US/a/north-america/used-ferrari/usa/ferrari-of-fort-lauderdale/ferrari-roma/ZFF98RNA4N0282058-1681345081945
