Coming from a Cali then a 488 GTB, I really would like to get a MT car. Never have owned a Porsche. Had a MT RX-7 back in the 90’s, loved working the gears. I’ve thought about the new Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 but keep hearing about the tall gearing (80 mph in 2nd!). Thinking about the 911 Carrera S or GTS coupe in MT. I know the new GTS will be announced soon. Can’t find what I like on the used market. I’m flying to Fort L Friday to visit Porsche West Broward to test drive a 718 and will of course head over to the F dealer to check out the F8’s.

    Any advice?

Below is a rendering of my build. Aero kit or no aero kit? Usually not a fan of the wings (GT4/3) but also not a fan of the long sloping back of a Porsche and would like to break it up.

I had a 997.1 GT3 and loved it. Actively shopping for another newer GT3 but the pickings are slim … Good luck.

Just keep in mind that 7 speed man in the Carrera S or other variants are very different in feel and engagement to the 6mt found in the GT cars. As for tall gearing I would't worry too much about it, you'll peg the redline on second so quick that you'll be glad it carried you to 80mph.

I haven’t tried one but I like the ethos of the GT3 Touring. Low clutter interior, manual, intended to be lightweight and pure driving experience.

981 Spyder — best manual of any cars I have driven /owned, good entry point price point for fun car. Just picked up a 992 4S and it is fantastic with PDK , a manual GT3 992 will be epic but a few years until then...
