    2011 Italia owner here.

Planning to add more cars, but not planning to sell the 458 ever for all the obvious reasons we’ve identified and debated here over the years.

It’s an emotional thing, all the more fundamental when I take a look at the environment radicals that are trying to force me and all of us to swallow vacuum cleaners on wheels that no one asked for, and that will save the planet because electricity comes from the pure, green and clean right hand of God with no pollution, externalities or downsides whatsoever.

Only scenario in which I’d sell is if I were forced by the goverment to sell, as in “if you drive an ICE car, you go to jail”.

Short of that, no other car can give me half the thrill a 458 gives me. In light of that, and considering how uncertain and short life is, why would I sell regardless of price, unless I needed the money to buy food?

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

A long time so I'm getting ready to change the transmission and differential fluids as well as coolant. Relatively cheap maintenance to hopefully avoid future problems. The car is a 2014 with just over 30,000 miles.

2013 458 Spider with 8,100 miles. Not planning to sell but would much rather add a V12 Ferrari. I have contemplated selling the car and getting a Speciale but I haven't brought myself to pull the trigger.

I’ve owned my 2015 458 Italia for 15 glorious months now... This is my first Ferrari and on its very first drive back home from the dealer (878 miles), I knew that I would never sell it, ever!

That’s not because it’s my first Ferrari, but because of the overall “driving experience” that the 458 delivers. The aerodynamic beauty of the car, the clean driver focused interior layout, the glorious engine music of its NA V8, the lightning fast shifting and the crisp responsiveness of its suspension all combine to produce a driving experience that’s utterly addictive.

When you’re driving the 458 it feels like it’s hardwired into your DNA. You become a part of it and it becomes a part of you... It just feels right on so many levels that there is no way I would ever sell it. The gods at Maranello reached for the stars with the 458 and the result of their work was nothing short of epic!

    Cheers!

I'm still not interested in the latest models. I'm debating a dedicated track car or a Speciale. I'd like to get into racing, but that is a no from the wife until the kids are grown.

My '13 will be for sale shortly; and I will miss it. It is a glorious drive with such sweet sound.

    Great question! :)

I've owned mine (1st Ferrari) since Oct 16th - will never forget the date, of course! Bought it with 10k miles and already close to 16k, including 2 track days and many WE spirited drives. It's literally made me addicted to the driving experience (and I was already hooked with my GT3 MT!).

Like many others that responded, I don't plan to sell it. I'll hopefully be in a financial position to add others (like a V12 Ferrari), but I'm not tempted at all with the 488 or F8, due mostly to the very different (lacking) engine note.

The 458 is already considered a future mega classic. It'll be worth a ton in 10 yrs! But I don't plan to save it from driving thousands of miles ;)

There is no decent option to replace a 458. No other car matches it's allaround greatness. It's the truth.

    I certainly wouldn't downgrade to a 488.

No plans to sell. New supercars don't interest me. 458 is a future classic. Only plan on adding other older cars (e46 m3, 997) to the collection seeing as what direction the automotive industry is going with EV.

Yeah, don't drink the purple cool-aid - keep the 458.

The 488 is definitely a violation of Enzo Ferrari's quote saying, "The best Ferrari ever built is the next one".

I bought my 458 Spider in February of 2017; it had 3300 hundred miles. Four years later and now at 8500 hundred miles I have no plans to sell... The thrill of just starting it excites me as the first day! The roar at 9000 rpm’s is like no other experience... I have enjoyed my 458 immensely....

same here. 8700 miles and counting. 15 coupe. Been to Vegas from LA numerous times. Definitely most exhilarating of all I have ever driven and owned thus far. Perfect balance of elegance and sportiness, as well as rawness and sophiscation. Definitely a hybrid of wild mistress and wholesome wife/mother material. Thank you, Maranello.

458 was discontinued, not replaced. F8 replaced and made the 488 obsolete. Two different things entirely. 488 owners aspire to trade up to the next model, i dont believe most 458 owners feel the same way .....I didn’t go out to buy a 458, I fell in love with it in a show room as I was walking past.
