Still not at Sunrise Swap Shop...some cars shuffled; many missing. Main display area pretty empty today...5 cars, yellow Daytona spider there, Miami Vice Testarossa...La Ferrari + Enzo moved to other display area. Couple of Porsches missing, F car engine displays getting no love. Oh, well. Still worth a visit, but some of the stars are gone.
I’m hopeful that 275 is now owned by a great collector and that we’ll see it soon at many shows and the finest concours.
In the heat of battle. Image Unavailable, Please Login Cooling issues? Hand me the sawzall... I'm kinda surprised that a car that's been called the "first $100 million dollar" Ferrari could have changed hands so discreetly. I would expect a disruption in the force...LOL
My understanding is #06885 was placed in a charitable trust years ago. Maybe someone can further elaborate.
Correct, but its location seems to be a mystery. I think it was at Jenette’s shop a while back., maybe still there. I’ll be speaking to its long term caretaker this weekend. He may know.
There is a good article about #06885 in the latest Prancing Horse by my friend David Williams. Check it out!
Just left the Swap Shop. Same 5 cars parked there. It’s sad to see the collection dwindling and displays neglected. Did anyone figure out where the 275 GTB went?
Enzo, couple 488’s, NSX, 458 Speciale, Ford GT, 1999 F1, Testarossa, Daytona, 962, GT2 sport beetle, some other 80’s Porsche it’s sad not much left
That is sad indeed. I always stopped at the swap shop right after leaving the airport on my way to west palm beach.
I guess all good things come to an end. Sad to see things change. It seemed like Preston and his cars would be here forever. Glad I got to experience the Ferrari scene when I did because today just isn’t the same.
It was purchased by an old German acquaintance of Preston’s. Has it already been resold to the Caiola family since then?
Gooding subsequently auctioned many of the cars in early 2011. Yes, the car went briefly to Europe, but AC has it now.
The ex-Henn FXX is #144880, was born Rosso Standard, Preston got it March 2006. In 2008 it was repainted yellow during the upgrade to Evo specs. In 2019 it went briefly to the German FXX dealer B.D., before going back to NY/USA. Marcel Massini
Here was the FXX on November 22, 2017. There were no cars in this area a couple weeks ago, just pictures and articles on the wall about Preston. The rope line was also gone. Image Unavailable, Please Login
