Hello guys .. I’m 8 hours away from my comfort zone inspecting this 2005 612 with 6000 miles. I notice that transmission showing delay reaction on both auto and manual mode, low and high rpm.. no clutch burning smell or any jerks. No error code on autel obd2 ..

    What it could be ??

    1. Forget the auto mode.
    2. Take it to the shop and change all the fluids.
    3. Drive it.

Also its a 2005 single clutch gearbox. Some delay is pretty normal, especially on the upshifts. Downshifts should feel pretty crisp though.

Fluid in the F1 system that drives the shifts and powers the clutch throw-out bearing is probably in pretty bad shape after sitting for several years. Also, shifts are slower until the transaxle comes up to temperature.

Well the down shift was crisp so I believe throw out bearing would be okay. I drove about 10 miles but temp gauge was stayed on a low side. Maybe changing fluid and drive little more to lubricant the seals, might change to little better shifting.

The early F1A transmission systems were not speed demons, at any rate. Min shift time in Sport with full throttle and high revs is 180 ms.

This car hasn't been serviced in 10 years. It's not going to run like a fine Swiss watch.

If I were you I would get a full service before driving any further before you really run into problems.

Thanks guys.. I’m already on it and about to start shopping for fluids and belts. Btw who carry better pricing on parts? I live in Dallas Texas and planning to tackle full service myself..
