Received my vents and they are really nice! These should be much better than the plastic OEM items. Thanks for the quick shipment. Highly recommend upgrade!

Mine are for sale, if anyone wants them.

I tried to have them installed, but the dealership said they "didn't fit". ??? I had the entire dash removed, and the leather replaced ($7k). Apparently the cause of the original dash vents popping out is the leather aging and shrinking, which pops the friction hold of the vents.

They sent a pic of how these "wouldn't fit", and said they would "stretch the leather" if forced into place and bound with the nuts and bolts provided.

I didn't go down to the dealership to inspect this personally (didn't have time), so I don't know how close or far off this "didn't fit" problem actually was. And I couldn't tell from the pics if it was actually serious, or posed to look worse than it was?

I'm pretty handy, and I suspect I could have made them fit without tearing anything, but...I can't 100% say for sure since I didn't witness the mis-fit they claimed was happening.

In the end, I just went with dealership recommendations for OEM parts on this. They're not making money off this part, (it's like $130/ea), so they weren't scamming from that angle. I just don't know if they weren't comfortable applying non-OEM parts to the car and then being liable if anything subsequently tore or went wrong?

Who knows. In any case, I have these perfectly good metal dash vents if anyone wants to buy them off me. Same price as what I paid, OBO.

    Thx!
    Chuck

That's a bummer, I just had mine installed last week at the dealer while it was in for its annual. They turned out great! It did stretch the leather a bit, because it completely eliminated the wavy dash i had. I would have installed these billet ones no matter what, because the plastic crap will break again soon. That doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't fit, if the OEM ones fit... Rizzo's work from my experience is way more precise, they are made to exact specs of OEM sizing. Sorry for your difficulty.

Hmm. Maybe I should just keep these metal ones then, for when the plastic ones break (again) here soon, and then insist on installing them. Ugh, another $7k.

The ones I got from Rizzo fit perfectly. They look really good through the windshield. I had the leather replaced at the same time so it all looks new.

Well now I'm just sad. I wonder if I got punked by my dealership (Ferrari Redondo Beach). Do they do that?

If it really cost 7k, then yes, I'm afraid you got hosed a bit. Unless you got new leather? I dont recall if you did and i'm too lazy to scroll all the way back up right now...lol. I had mine done at an actual Ferrari dealer, not an Indie for under 1600.00... i was shocked how cheap they did it for, I was expecting to do it myself over the summer, but when I saw the quote I jumped on it. Very happy. And yes, I would hang onto them for the future! Course, my total bill was over 20k... maybe they felt bad for me. I had to replace my steering unit.
