I just hooked up my Launch 431 and got the 75% worn reading. The car drives and shifts great. At what percentage will I start having issues and have to replace the clutch?
It’s never popped into neutral, yet.

Using your launch device, try this rather than using their percent wear reading:

Calculation of clutch wear percentage for Ferrari 360/430:
closed clutch position - NEW closed clutch position / Clutch thickness (8.5 mm for 360, 5.6 mm for 430) * 100 = % wear on clutch

    Kevin,
Can you clarify that please? I don’t understand. I’ve only used the Launch a couple times and am still learning it.

    My email is [email protected]
    if that would be easier.

    Thx

Oh that's significantly better lol. I didn't notice the 231 at first. I believe the 301 is the correct choice but someone who knows more will chime in shortly with a more reputable answer. ;)

When I bought the car a year ago with 12,900 miles, I was told there was 83% remaining when they “snapped” the clutch.

    Any ideas?

I'd be willing to bet that the second image you posted is the correct one then. That would be a much more realistic figure, ultimately. 75% life left after 14k is significantly more along the lines of what others report for mileage from a clutch than the inverse. Going through 75% of the clutch in 14k miles tells me someone was either reversing it uphill for almost all of those miles, or doing a *LOT* of 0730 laps of the 495 beltway around DC. :D

    This is the correct one.

Also, I did not know if Launch calculated the clutch wear correctly. Apparently it does:

    (18.42-16.92) / 5.6 *100 = 26.78% clutch wear

Sounds about right at about 27% clutch used for 14,000 miles. Mine is about the same and I am at around 13,500 miles on my 2009.

Thanks for the replies. That’s great news. I don’t have to spend $6000 on a new clutch yet, and be without the car for a week.
