Hi All, Does anyone know if these filters were sold as an assembly as shown, or was the filter material sold separately? In either case does anyone have a spec of the filter material? Thanks for any help. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Richard, Yes, these used to be available as assemblies (for approximately $75/each) but I think no longer. However these can be "rebuilt" with aquarium filter material; it has been several years, but my recollection is that the two plastic halves snap apart and the filter is compressed between. The diameter of the circular aspect is 8 inches and I used 1 inch thick filter material. Here are some images (having challenges with uploading so will add to posts):
And a few more: The vendor I purchased from (www.petsolutions.com) appears no longer in business, but I think this would be very similar: https://www.amazon.com/Aquatic-Experts-Classic-Pond-Filter/dp/B0721ZCPNX/ref=asc_df_B0721ZCPNX/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241914847320&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17714344320263902174&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019794&hvtargid=pla-404289826937&psc=1 And I still have some left over, happy to send you some? The aquarium filter is an exact match for the original material. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

When pieces of my filters began ejecting from my registers I removed what remained of the filters. That was over 20 years ago. The airflow is minimal compared to my other vehicles so why hinder it more.
They should prevent the heater matrix fins blocking up with crud as shown in Milkshaker's photo. They also provide some protection for the fan impellers, well they're at least fine enough to stop bicycles going through the system!

I am fairly certain that I sprayed mine with Simple Green and hosed them off which cleaned them enough to function.
I have my bumper off for stone chip repairs; very easy to access the front filter with this off! Wonder if you could help me with bumper re alignment - could you measure the gap between the top of the bumper to underside of body? Could you take a pic of this gap across its full length? Apologies for changing the subject but your pic reminded me that this is on my to do list.
So...are there two of those filters - one for each blower or a single intake feeding both blowers? I can't tell by the Eurospares parts diagram though from the part number listing it shows two filters are required. What is the "normal access" to the filters? Hopefully it's not bumper removal!
There's two filters. One is accessed by removing the front piece of the wheel arch lining. The other by removing the driving light, or possible the under tray directly under the fan assembly. Good luck with the screws that hold the filters on - two of mine were rusted to the point I couldn't get any purchase with a screw driver onto them. But this car has lived on a damp Island all its life!
