I thought I would try the Ferrari section, before “other Italian” section. —- I spotted this on my way to work today. I have no idea what it is. Looks Italian? Wheels look like Lamborghini? Long lost Ferrari???? - What is it??
Looks like an Intermeccanica coupe. Points of divergence from that would be B-pillar window, 4 lug wheels (instead of 6), and flush-mounted hinges (on both hood and doors). But of course those could all be modifications. Will be interesting to learn more. Cool spot.
LaDawri maybe? I think those were fiberglas. Judging by some of the cracks and patches, could be. A Victress, or Sicilian? Possibly an Apollo? Perry
LaDawri and Victress were fiberglass (and 50's) so those are out. Pretty sure what we're looking at is aluminum- if not, it's steel. Other than the prototype, all Apollo's were built by Intermeccanica so I'm willing to double-down on my guess. (Although if L Wayne Ausbrooks were on this thread I would just be quiet, lest he take my money by naming the chassis number, etc.)
The nose suggests a Kellison to me. However the back is very un-Kellison-like. All Intermeccanicas and Apollos I have seen have a more refined appearance in the front, less "droopy," but I certainly haven't seen them all.
Looking at the hood fitment, I think a lot of the droop is due to the giant crack in the near side fender. The other side looks more intact...for now.
I should have picked up on this earlier- the Mustang in the first pic is a good size reference and supports it being a smaller vehicle than my initial guess. The fact that it has 4-lug hubs would also make sense if it were built on the chassis of something like an MG etc. .
The rims certainly look very similar to a Fiat 124. Otherwise may be re-bodied. Image Unavailable, Please Login
when I saw this it made me think of a car I saw an article many years ago at that time I looked it up and ended on a belgian website it took time to find it back but sadly it is not the same (a Sabra an Israelian make) could it not be something Brasilian didn't they made some fiberglass cars on a VW or Opel chassis ?
well heck I thought you were talking about the 66 mustang coupe on top .....the lower car looks to need some desperate attention ......now the mustang looks EXACTLY like the car I learned to drive on..
The wheels are actually Triumph TR8 alloys. Was looking for a Devin coupe, but couldn't find one suitable. Perry
