    Hi All, picked up my 2011 roughly 10 months ago. I remember seeing the metallic flakes in the cavities when cleaning the car then. I guess it must have accumulated over time and now it’s evident again. Can someone please tell me if I should be worried ? Is it normal ?

    The struggle is real. You have to vacuum that stuff off constantly. It builds up as road dirt, etc. is blown up under the car; nothing to worry about.

    I didn’t know our ceramic brakes had brake dust?! And how did it end up so high in such an odd location !?

    still curious why the grit and road dirt would comprise of mostly metal flakes that’s what’s puzzling to me

    Whats weirder I've found it can actually damage the finish on the manifold if not cleaned up over a long period of time. It must vibrate from the engine and "sandblasting" the red paint...

    Yep. Significantly less than iron though; looks like a fine sandy colored silt
