What watch are you wearing today?

I was cleaning out some old boxes and found my first watch! My mom bought it for me. I forget when, I want to say grade 8, but I’m not sure. I just can’t remember.

I completely forgot this existed. It’s officially now the second thing I own from my childhood. The other item is a cap gun.

Bill Blass ! Not bad for a first one . I got a 80's swatch, then up graded to the Casio Divers watch made in Japan . Thought I was hot taters with that one .

What year do you guess? Now I want to be VERY clear here...we’ve sent PM’s, talked, gotten along, etc, but if you tell me you were in the 8th grade in the mid 80’s....well, we won’t be able to be friends any longer.

Tonight I said goodbye to my dad. This watch, his watch, will always remind me of him... he was simple practical and proud. Anything more fancy than this Timex was unnecessary.

I suppose it takes a battery, so I’ll start there.

 

Well, my 13 year old son said he was going to ask if he could have it, but after I said it was the only other thing from my childhood he felt bad and didn’t. I left it at that. If I can get it running I’ll give it to him for grade 8 grad as a surprise. He was really excited and into the watch. He said he saw it in the basement before, and wanted to ask about it but didn’t.

I guess that means he saw the 50th Anniversary Playboy that was in the same box too (chuckle).

Birthday event happening for me this week. Got the green light from the wife to add to the collection.Checked in with the ADs I have purchased from previously, only thing available so far is a white gold day/date- white face.
