I like the back and the side profile but the front needs a total re-think. Yes I know that grill shape permeates the line up but that doesn't make it any better. JUST my 2cents...

 

It's hard to see anything but those awful side lights. They are overpowering and draw my eye in every time I try to look at it. It's at odds with the rest of the design. I can't imagine how that got through/approved.

 

The rear sidelights, the strip on the bottom is longer than the strip on the top, due to bumper/body seams, and they mirrored this on the back of the trunk by ending the top strip early and creating an angle.

On the front of the car, the grill and wheel arch make the top strip longer and bottom strip shorter. Behind the wheel arch, the front edge of that does the same, so they should have ended the bottom strip a little before the top prior to the door to keep the same theme. The fact that both ended abruptly together with the door makes it look like the theme was supposed to continue onto the door to be resolved but perhaps the car had a downgraded door replacement at some point that didn't opt for the lights. It just jars and looks unplanned or unfinished to stop both strips at the door seam.

Hot Wheels designer has passed away. Way too young.

 

Not sure if anyone has seen these before, but a company in Italy makes the latest concept prototype supercar models for collectors. I don't collect them because they have no interiors and cost to much but the shapes are almost perfect.

Also... isn't it interesting how decades ago designers of the 1950s imagined a future in which we would sit highly visible in airy bubble-topped cars, when what has actually happened is that the door sills have crept upwards until we're all driving around straining to peek over the engine compartment of our pillboxes on wheels?
