Well very few Europeans unfortunately. We have plenty of nice cars in the USA so it could still be really nice. Did you take any photos last year? Could you post a few photos of the Monza on the thread I started if you did? Thank you sir.
I'll be there, as I have at every Cavallino Classic since the beginning back in 1992. Glad to keep my streak intact.
Post on this one, until you leave Chicago I know you take great photos. Chicago racing and sportscar thread(vintage and modern) | Page 2 | FerrariChat
Alright guys, I'm a virgin so be gentle. Just bought a Sat ticket and will most likely be driving up from Lauderdale for the day. Have some friends w homes in PB so could crash Fri nite...but Satellite parking? Parking on the grounds? Am I insane to try and drive in? Is it easier to get dropped off? Looking forward to this greatly. Haven't had a good Ferrari fix since Maranello. Prob need to wear a bib.
If you can avoid driving or parking, I would. It should be a fairly light event as compared to a normal year. Still, I would take an Uber or get dropped off.
Parking at the Breakers valet is easy but it's $50. Best thing to do IMO is stay at your friend's in PB and Uber to the Breakers. If you are an early bird it's cool to get there at sunrise and watch all the cars pull in to the front lawn. Then go have breakfast by the ocean till the event opens. The Breakers also has an unbelievable breakfast buffet. It's expensive but worth it. Have fun!
This is my favorite event of the year! (Usually because it’s also Palm Beach in January-can’t beat that!) To NYCFred; I always just valet at the Breakers. Plenty of room on Fri/ Saturday and valet is also free if you drive your Ferrari. Last time, valets set up a “lookey loo” lot right upfront across from the main field of cars for those who drove their Ferrari but didn’t enter a car, so onlookers would have some cars to see who didn’t want to pony up the $200 for a ticket.
Here's a little teaser: Among the cars to be shown at Cavallino in ten days (24th April) will be 0704 TR, 3527 GT, 0619 GT, 0232 AL, 0235 EU, 10999, 1305 SA and 4607 GT. All exceptional Ferraris. Too bad no Europeans will be able to visit. Marcel Massini
I can usually find a parking place on one of the side streets and then walk to the Breakers. Enjoy the event. With the sale of Cavallino, no one knows if this will be the last one in its traditional format.
I just received a second email from Cavallino announcing another non-Ferrari to be displayed at Cavallino 30. Although it did not specifically say the cars would be displayed at Cavallino 30, it strongly implied it, and it did not specifically state that they would be displayed at Classic Sports Sunday, either. In fact, the headline states: Exotic Dual-Ghia at Cavallino 30 Has something changed? Is Cavallino no longer exclusively Ferrari, or are they just trying to fill the field in the absence of any Ferraris from European entrants?
More teasers: 3705 GT will also be displayed. Plus two 288's, two F40s and one F50. Total of 70 Ferraris in the show. Marcel Massini
More info on the cars coming, the event, and link to purchase tickets online. There will be no tickets sold onsite. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/news/the-ultra-rare-line-up-at-the-30th-cavallino-classic.2207/
Beside the actual concours at the Breakers there is the Classic Sports Sunday, a multi-marque concours. In the last years this was held on Sunday at Mar-a-Lago, this year it is also at the Breakers. So on Sunday you will see some of the Ferrari seen the day before in addition to other cars, so I guess the Dual-Ghia will be on show on Sunday but not on Saturday
After attending and showing my Ferrari’s at Cavallino over the past few years, I won’t be attend this year. I’ve decided to focus all my attention, resources and energy on Pebble Beach this year. I look forward to returning to the show field at the Breakers next January. It’s always one of my favorite weeks of the year. I hope everyone attending has a great time and I wish those exhibiting a car all the best.
Presumably, but the emails I received from Cavallino strongly implied that the Dual-Ghia and one other car (a V16 Cadillac, I believe) would be displayed at “Cavallino 30.” Since Cavallino and this web site are owned by the same entity you’d think someone would be monitoring threads like this one to answer questions, provide updates, clarifications, etc.....
there's not email or phone numbers on the Cavallino site? Motorsport owns 50+ websites and properties, hard for them to keep up when they are heads down focusing on the event. If there are IMPORTANT questions that have to be answered I can certainly channel them to the right place.
Yes, I’m pretty sure Cavallino has a phone. I just thought it would be more interesting to discuss here. We’re talking about the premier Ferrari web site and the premier Ferrari event in the world, both in the same corporate corporate family, so, yes, I would expect somebody might take a look every few days to see what’s being discussed.
