    Absolutely agree.
It's a ferrari Road car design. So it has to have that Ferrari DNA in- and outside. Unless indeed it would be more like a (barf) Senna. A car that manages to be even uglier in real life than pictures.
So it's a form follows function for Ferrari.; which still means a hefty degree of elegance. It's only less elegant than other models.
    Perfect to my liking!

Making up for any power loss due to the GPF isn't something that I've seen advertised by Ferrari in any of the applicable models where direct comparison to pre-gpf is possible. For other manufacturers I've seen anything up to 10+% loss. Unfortunately, some of the advertised power increase here was limited by having simply to get back to base 812SF power.

Meaning without GPF we would be looking at a 900hp powerplant!
Who's willing to get rid of the GPF and do a software tune.....!?

Pretty sure Cosworth doesn’t offer a 15-year powertrain (extended) warranty, though.

Aston Martin has severe financial problems. Very likely the Valkyrie will fail as a project. At McLaren they also have serious problems of the same kind. Ferrari plans and designs for the long term with efficiency and method.

Thank you for finally bringing this up^^ I was getting caught up on this thread this morning and couldn’t believe no one had mentioned the GPF.

Comparing the VS to the standard SF is not an apples to apples comparison. Assuming a conservative 5% power loss to GPF, we’re looking at 40 hp. Add the additional 30hp increase and we’re looking at a total of 70hp. They already had to beef up the engine for the GTS just to match the same output of the SF. The fact that we are getting another 30hp out in the VS is a miracle.

For those of you disappointed in the power increase, you can go complain to the EU.

At present the "Valkyrie" and its Cosworth V12 are not released, years late and getting later, Cosworth has never made a V12 engine before this and the last road car a Cosworth engine (really just heads, not the entire engine, used MB block) was used in was more than 35 years ago (MB 190E). Cosworth's main claim has been F1 engines, which do not require the durability of a road car and even then, it's been about 10 years since Cosworth made an F1 engine. Yes I realize T.50 will also use a Cosworth V12 (completely different size, much smaller block) and Gordon's cars are definitely built like race cars including huge maintenance costs just like a race car.

So, until the Valkyrie is released to "road car" customers and has some history, especially its durability (which cannot be known until in-use by customers and then customer's who actually use it) it is completely irrelevant and is 100% invalid for comparison. Yes, I understand Cosworth has done durability bench tests, but the block is to be part of the frame of the car and that's not been as tested, the violent shaking the block will endure, etc (sort of like the F50 construction).

Another thought is Audi/Lamborghini, they clean sheet designed the V12 for the Aventador and its maximum power is similar to Ferrari's (little less). There is probably good reason for this as those engines must have durability.

Lastly, the Cosworth V12 "1000hp" claim was from 2017/2018, pre-GPF, and EU noise regulations, will it actually remain with the same specs whenever it is realized as a road going car....

No, the GPFs remove about 20-25HP, to go from 819HP (830PS) to 900HP (912PS) would not be possible.

Without GPF, the 812VS would likely be about 855PS (843HP) (that's not to say removing GPF and Catalysts will not result in even more power, it would, but even then 900HP is unlikely).

And a good deal of the extra power in the 812VS is due to the substantial increase in rev limit to 9500 from 8900.

I'm sure Novitec or Fabspeed will do something about sound and power (not 900CV, but more than stock).

2019 actually and they said that it passes Euro 6, without the need for a PPF (GPF), as it uses multipoint injection instead of direct. But I understand all the points you are making and the Valkyrie has to prove these claims in the real world.

We will probably never know, because this car is unfortunately not intended to be driven.
The reason is simple, no owner has the piloting to operate this kind of machine other than straight line runs.

It is a really beautiful car. It will be undoubtedly be an amazing experience on the road. Ferrari will make 1,500 of them.

Sadly, these 1,500 cars will sit in collections and storage around the world and rarely be seen. The vast majority of them will never do more than 200km a year - if that.

Meanwhile the numerous genuine enthusiasts who regularly drive their cars on the road are prohibited from the opportunity of buying one: It is difficult to believe that such customers are actually valued by Ferrari.

Not what’ll be happening with mine....

I know two others with confirmed allocations. Theirs won’t sit either.

I promise I am going to put 100,000 km on mine if I can. I did over 50,000 km in my F12 and have 93,000 km on my 575. To me the car is going to be worth zero after I write the check and I am going to drive it until the wheels fall off. That includes driving it as fast as I possibly can on track (or as fast as my mediocre driving skills will allow).
