Hi, I’m sure this topic has been covered to some extent with the multiple 430 vs. 360 threads, however, I was hoping to request additional detail from the owners who have had the opportunity to own both cars in the f1 and gated transmissions. Differences in driving feel between the 360 and f430 I’ve heard all the main talking points around torque, refinement, reliability but curious to hear more about real world driving experiences and differences felt over earned miles. Does the 360 feel more nimble or twitchy on mountain roads? Is it more fun to drive the slower 360 fast vs. the faster f430 slow? Or are they both slow in today’s super car world? Does the f430 lose some of its specialness because of increase refinement, or does the added torque more than make up for it? Does the f1 trans or 6sp feel better suited for a specific model? For example, the e90/e60 generation m cars (m3/m5) were designed with the automatic in mind from the factory. And I hate to say it as a die hard 3 pedal guy but I opted for the auto because it just felt right with the car. That said, I believe the auto transmission is something you really like in the beginning but slowly fades into boredom (at least has been my experience), whereas the 6sp with all its faults, is a transmission you fall more in love with over time. Can the same be said for the 360/f430? Does the gated shifter in the f430 feel like an afterthought vs. the f1? Does the 360 3 pedal feel just right? Or was the engine designed with f1 in mind? I realize there are a bunch of loaded questions above, but what I’m really trying to understand are some of the deeper nuances of each car and transmission pairing thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing about your experiences
This topic would make a great you tube video. gl getting unemotional answers Pop corn ready for the forth coming debate!
Hmmm loaded questions from a new poster w 2 posts and a p car handle. Not saying you are a troll... but smells unproductive. Drive both and see for yourself.
Yes, we've seen those bombs thrown before and the thrower disappearing, lol 360/430 and F1/3-pedals comparisons are always emotional discussions. We love the ones we have because for some of us (me) it was my first F car and I'm keeping it. You've given the best advice, "Drive both and see for yourself".
theres def no substitute for driving the cars in person (which i also plan to do), but i was hoping to exclude a few off the bat (initially its the f1 cars). That said, I think a 1 hr test drive can only uncover so much... would have preferred an fcar handle but they were all the good ones were taken
Scratch around here.. there are many threads some based on data most based on emotion. Gl in your data quest.
This is probably the most detailed comparison out there. https://aldousvoice.com/2014/07/08/ferrari-360-vs-f430/
How will you drive the car? that's as important to this conversation as anything. Any track use intended?
