Been wanting to change my magnerides on the 458 into traditional KW dampers for custom setup, anyone know if that will throw error codes? If so, how do I bypass?
Hi I’ve just installed a set of Yellow Speed Coilovers and have to admit ride is awesome Haven’t messed about with the damping setup but the lowering with the spacers looks awesome Haven’t figured a way to bypass the warning light Did try a few resistors but they end up blowing maybe using the wrong ones so as above if anyone can advise would be awesome I do know K-Sport sell a EDC Cancellation Kit which is last resort but would be good to know if they can be coded to be switched off from the Machine or a simply using resistors etc
Just says something like Suspension Control System Failure when you start the car up and it goes through all it’s cycles Then at the bottom where it displays the odometer there’s a little suspension light that’s stays on as like in the link below https://www.manualslib.com/manual/900232/Ferrari-458-Italia.html#page=118-manual
It's not a reader. It's basically a small dongle that removes codes. It was originally made to prevent a CEL when running sports cats or test pipes. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Awesome Is that for the 458 or another car? If for the 458 any idea on the costs and take it they just plug and play correct?
I did a search and found this. You probably could contact them directly. https://www.intraxracing.nl/en/products/shockabsorbers/ferrari/237-458+spider%2C+speciale%2C+speciale+a%2C+challenge%2C+itali+gt2%2C+italia+gt3%2C+italia+grand-am/4130-4-way%7Crally Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes. They are manufactured for 458. Maybe they won’t sell them unless you buy a set of shocks and they are not cheap at all but quality is top of the tree in every sense.
Yes they have just replied to my email but quoting €595 for the cancellation kit Am sure K-Sport where slightly cheaper but for now I will try to work a DIY method as surely it can’t be that hard to bypass?
It is not difficult to bypass but if you don’t use the exact equipment, on one hand sooner than you expect an error will come to your dash and ecus will enter in limp mode. On the other, and you have to be very careful, you cannot imagine the amount of heat the resistances will disípate, it can melt in case you choose the wrong one. Well, 595€ sounds expensive but take into account that Intrax is well above most of the shock manufacturers we are used to listen about…
To be honest from what I’ve gathered I don’t even think they even manufacture it themselves and source it from elsewhere After fitting these coilovers only thing is annoying is the error and light that comes up because the car does not have magnaride anymore There’s no limp mode or anything Wondering if there’s an option on the 458 to code it out like some have done on the R8’s if not then back to the drawing board lol
Trust me, limp mode will come. Sooner or later. And remember that all is connected to everything in this cars: suspensions, Ediff, TC….. Do you really want to risk your car for this amount? The price they quote for the cancelation kit is same than for a Megane RS, 997, M3….
Its not about the risk and worse case scenario if can’t figure it out will purchase the kit from K-Sport or Intrax but for now the project continues Have done almost 1000 miles in it since fitting the new suspension haven’t come across any limp mode yet and car is always driven in Race Mode
Pardon my limited technical knowledge, but where do these go? The suspension wiring? Or somewhere else?
