The wife and I within the last year decided to give cigars a try. So far, so good ! We've been trying many different kinds from a few local smoke shops and I figured this would be a good place for advice etc. Looking for some suggestions for a pair of newbies. Thanks!
Just picked up 10 Serie E No. 2, 3 Esplendidos and 3 Serie D No. 4 in duty free at Dubai. Off to Zimbabwe in 3 hrs..... Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I think you have to try lots of different cigars and see which ones suit you. I prefer very strong cigars, but some of my friends really like those that are more mild. I started with Arturo Fuente, but when I smoke one now, they are too mild for me. I did not think that at the time. Any good cigar store can give you good coaching to get you started.
Ya just try a bunch. It’s like cookies, or cake, or cocktails, beer. Coors light to crazy strong darks. Sours. IPA, radlers... So many different ones. Stay away from dry, not properly stored; they’ll be harsh and taste horrible, like skunky beer or corked wine. If you light one and don’t like it, throw it out and grab something else. No need to torture yourself. Have fun!
Just a friendly recommendation, the Gurkha Cellar Reserve series is fantastic, any of the "ages". Great pick up and smoke cigars when well stored.
Smoked this today back to back with the Belicoso. Very pleasantly surprised by this cigar (Oliva V Series Double Robusto), made my friday night with some Johnnie Walker Green label. The Belicoso is nice too, but this one is a great little cigar. Have a Melanio Robusto I'll probably get to this weekend too.
H Upmann by A J Fernadez has been my consistent go to stick for some time now. I keep trying others and find some which are good but for consistent quality and taste, the AJ sticks are the best. I keep a box of Robustos in my humidor all the time because nothing else compares. My daughter brought me a bundle of Cubans from her trip to the Caribbean last year and while they were good, they were not great. Simon Bolivars and Cohibas.
In vacation. No great scenery or anything and kinda sadly a sign of the times. I almost never smoke any more. But have a humidor full of good stuff so brought some with me on vacation. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I bought a villa in the Dominican Republic a couple years ago and I have a huge stash of Arturo Fuente and a lot of very fine cigars that I don’t think ever make it to the USA, like Charles Parker, and Don Lucas.
