The ACT is moving to adopting a CRS system based on NSW, ie 60 days of log book use plus club events. For me, that effectively represents unlimited use because it equates to driving a car once a week, plus club runs. I simply don't have the time , opportunity or inclination to use a car that frequently. Multiply that by 4 cars on CRS and it amounts to pretty decent annual saving on rego and insurance which I'd prefer to spend on maintenance etc.
The annual cost is the sook who complains about your stitching, or the sook who complains about your ugly numberplate. Same thing, really. I'm massively in favour of these historic reg systems. I just don't get why you have to wear the shocking numberplate. Why, exactly, couldn't you have a normal numberplate?
Thank you all and especially Ian for organising such a truly magnificent event. Very big day today. Image Unavailable, Please Login

The "ugly' plate is perhaps so as the authorities can identify a car on CH plates ..when its out and about ? There no more ugly then some of the personnel plates getting around ' Red355" ect . IMO of course .
Interesting. This was in the Bentley a few weeks back. What took you so long? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Huh? The ‘H’ is for historic, what’s crappy about that? Who gives a rats about the number plate anyway?
That's a very good effort. We had quite a few towns along the way which really makes a difference to the average speed. All maximum 100 kmh zones for us, constant roadworks stops and slowdowns and then 40 minutes at the end for me driving across Brisbane.
It was amazing. The Alpine region was so different to what I'm used to. It's why we've always predominantly done our runs in winter or at the very least in our cooler months.
Update, sitting in Nyngan RSL suckin' on a 150 after a 900klm Warialda to Wellington to here.Thankfully nothing bad to report!
