I have posted this here before. Back about 20 years ago when I was cleaning out my attic I found a little suitcase with all my "baby stuff" in it including cards sent to my mother when she was at the hospital when I was born. They were all addressed to her in room 308.

For me personally, that is in the top 5 coolest things I have ever seen in my life - of anything

 

I too had a 308 hotel room, in Reno. I even posted the picture here on FChat. It didn’t help me one bit at the tables.

My office is room 308 but I'm at work and can't take pictures. You'll have to take my word for it.

But yep I see car numbers in "stuff" all the time, not just 308. Part of the code for a conference call I do every day is 928. I sometimes see 550 or 456 in numbers.

I guess if cars are your thing you see stuff a bit differently.

 

The amount of times I've looked at my alarm clock next to my bed to see 3:28 at the first glance is scary.

Both during the day... and when waking up to grab a glass of water at night !!

 

Oh yeah. Watch, phone, clock anywhere. I have even made a promise to myself to only buy a lottery ticket when it is a Ferrari model number and if I win, I will have to celebrate by purchasing that model Ferrari!

For fans of "The Office", Michael Scott's hotel room during "The Convention" episode was 308. Have to watch the episode, but it's mentioned several times he's throwing a party in room 308. Here's a hilarious scene you might remember:

I've seen plenty of "308" and "328" references as noted but since purchasing my 328 in '08, I have seen a total of ONE other 3x8 on the road in those 13 years!

 

Where the heck do you live... the Sahara desert ??

 

I don't count seeing them at local Ferrari meet. Coffee klatch, etc. I'm talking about seeing them out driving around on the highway, or on a twisty country road, (or in the Home Depot parking lot with 2x4's from the passenger footwell extended out over the engine deck!) FWIW, 8ft 2x4's are easy; Christmas trees aren't too bad; plywood sheets...they're a problem!

As I said, I've only seen one other 3x8 out in public in 13 years. It was another 328 pulling off of Hwy 50 onto Kent Narrows Road on Kent Island, MD. By chance, I ended up several cars behind her as I was in my 328 bound for the same location - Annies Restaurant. She got the last decent parking place!

 

They are a rare sight here in Melbourne too but without talking about car shows or club events, etc I would see a 3X8 in the "wild" on average twice to four times a year.

 

Second time in a fews days I've checked my phone randomly...
