250 GTO coming to BaT???

The auction will be for an original 250 GTO body, not a complete car.

250 GTO body is from 4713GT LMB and the 500 Mondial body is from 0506MD.

 

I think body sections, not the entire bodies. But we'll see.

 

I remember my test drive with 4713 very well, drove the doors off it!

You can see the yellow tail section of what I presume is 0506MD (the last S.I Mondial) in the background of that pic.

So what is the story behind these panels? Are they from the car as-born or are they replacement panels after the mid-'60s crash? Also why are they not with 4713GT now? Sweep of front fenders looks wrong to me

High bid on the 250 GTO LMB body panels was $77,500 so did not sell at the auction, BUT the panels sold after the auction.

The 500 Mondial panels sold for $28,250.
