Let's pour our hearts out here and share why we love the 458 so much! What makes every drive feel like a special occasion? Things that make this model a modern classic? Why the values are shooting up?

Gentlemen of excellent taste, we gather here to appreciate!

Last NA Engine for mid engined models. Last Pininfarina mid engined model. The looks, sound(especially with Novitec full exhaust setup), how it handles. It makes me smile every time I start it up. Those are the few things that made me buy mine. I love it!

I love mine because it's my first Ferrari and literally a dream come true. It may not be the fastest car out there or the best handling, but there's a sense of occasion every time I drive it. I feel like the coolest person on the road (until I see an F8 or Aventador or something :p).

Because it is so light and nimble, precise, free revving and alive!

But most of all the glorious sound, enhanced by Novitec!

Mostly the intangibles. I do think this one will go down as one of the all time greats.

I’ve even come to accept and love its faults. And that’s true love.

I have a 21 year old son who I love and adore, at the the age of 14 he asked me if I could have any car in the world (no budget limit) what would I choose? At the time of the question I owned an air cooled 911 Turbo, a gen 2 Viper tt, a C3 Corvette, a '57 356 and some turbocharged tuner cars, I answered without hesitation "458 Ferrrari". He took me to lunch yesterday and brought up this conversation. I still own the above cars and have added a C6Z, like the 458 a very powerful n/a V8. There are very few places in America that you can use the power of either of these fine sport cars (Z and 458) and the sound of each is intoxicating. The F car brings out the child in me(childish?) and I feel like a rock star behind the wheel, not to be seen but to drive and feel as though someone built a car whose sole purpose for existing is to make the owner smile. I like the F8 and the C8 but I can see no reason to upgrade at this point. I enjoy the clean lines of the 458, the sound, the precise handling. I can not imagine any place local to me outside a race track where one could utilize the enormous power reserves of an F8. The 458 stirs the soul like nothing else that I have driven. There are times I sit in my Garage with a glass of bourbon stare and thank God for the incredible journey.

It's all been said above but the driving experience is bar none. I love the sound (the downshifts!!!), the handling is light and accurate, the shifts really bang you hard under a load, the looks (you don't see quite the same engine presentation in newer cars anymore)....I have even grown to love the sensitive throttle. What a great car!

Many have already touched on the reasons to appreciate or have a 458.
    My 458 Spider recap:
My first and probably last Ferrari
    Last NA V8 mid engine
Great handling with excellent balance and turn in
Terrific styling that has become a classic look
    Fast DCT shifts
    9000 rpm sound
Comfortable ride, seats and reasonably practical to use.
    Convenient retractable hardtop.
Likely holding value or going up over time makes me feel better about spending $200k on a toy.

Due to more strict noise and emission regulations, and the current path the motor technology has taken, the 458's glorious NA V8 noise will not be reproduced again. Ever.

I must love it. I'm on my 3rd one, this time a Spider. I absolutely love it! I still believe the 458 will go down as one of the greatest cars ever coming out of Maranello. It continues to be very special each time I drive it. The sound with the top down is truly exhilarating. I've posted it before so I apologize in advance for repeating myself ;)

It has all been said before, true. But I can’t hear it enough!

The design: This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen and I love the voluptuous curves. The automotive analog of Jessica Rabbit!

    The leather aroma: So intoxicating!

The sound: always makes me smile when I take a tunnel, an underpass, along side a 18 wheeler or concrete barrier wall.

The shifts: Downshifts sound glorious but I love the donkey kick in my back when upshifting under full throttle in race mode

The performance: Her purpose is for canyon carving and I love the handling and feedback she gives when stretching her legs.

The historical impact: the 458 will always be remembered for making so many statements. I think it will be a legendary achievement for Ferrari. Image Unavailable, Please Login

A very satisfying drive whether just cruising or standing on it. Wonderful sound, comfortable seats, extremely civilized.
Coming from many previous Ferrari’s, there is something transformational about this model. It’s as if Ferrari decided that it was time to build a high performance sports car that would scream “exotic” and yet be easy to live with. Obviously the game has moved on with the 488 and F8 but that doesn’t detract from the significance of this particular model. And for that reason it will be the last V8 mid-engined Ferrari I will own.

Are we allowed to comment more than once? F it I'm going to do it anyway :p

So as a 90s kid my obsession started with the F355. I can see in my mind's eye the small poster I had of a yellow F355 GTB I had hanging on my bedroom wall.

From then on I was always obsessed with the mid-engine V8 Ferrari. The F355, the 360, the F430, and then the 458 Italia. There's something so Ferrari about them. I remember as a teenager seeing a red F430 parked on the street and stopping to look through that glass panel at the beautiful V8 engine. It was pure pornography.

I remember thinking that these cars were literally dream cars. That they were for others but not for me, and would forever remain a fantasy. It was a bittersweet feeling to have, to want something so bad but to also think there'd be no way to ever have one.

With some hard work and a LOT of luck I was in a position to be able to finally buy one. I had my choice of any of the V8s, and I just had to go with the 458. There's something about a high-revving naturally aspirated V8 that is intoxicating. I own a Z4 M (with a 3.2L 8000rpm I6) and an E92 Dinan M3 (with a 4.6L 8400rpm V8) so I'm all about putting an incredible drivetrain in a well-designed car.

It took me nearly a year to find my car. I waited decades for the dream to come true and I was prepared to wait a few more months to get as close to the perfect car as I could. Waiting for it to be delivered was equal parts excitement and torture. Seeing it for the first time was equal parts amazement and disbelief. Driving it for the first time was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating.

This is why I love my 458. Its "Plain Jane" styling is definitely muted compared to the McLarens, Lambos, and even newer Ferraris, but I love it. It puts a smile on my face whenever I see it. And gives me a tingle every time I turn it on.

Just bought mine two weeks ago Monday. You just have to experience it. I also have a 991.2 turbo s (modded) that is superior as far as performance...but its not a 458. I knew this going into it. The 458 is everything I expected it to be! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Imagine the thrill of F430 owners at 2009 going to the dealer to test drive a 458 for the first time. And how the car exceeded all of their expectations! Mindblowing!

Coming from a 360 6MT and driving a 458 for the first time was an unforgettable experience. Instant love. I was home sitting behind that wheel, tucked tight in a perfect carbon sport seat. Wow man. 1,5 years from that drive I bought an Italia.

The joy of owning one. Nothing matches it really. We are in the same boat my friends. And it will stay afloat for a long time!
