That "Mission Winnow" needs to be dropped from the suits and the car. It's not only a joke but an embarrassment.
Right. So did the chief mechanic and team boss just leave the circuit for some lasagna last night? They didn’t put their hands on every part of the car? Unbelievable
This sucks, I feel so badly for him. This is Bottas’ chance to make a massive statement. Verstappen is about to experience what it feels like for someone with nothing to lose to stick it in elbows out on the first corner
I wrote yesterday that Ferrari shouldn't gamble of the gearbox being intact after the shunt. Losing 5 places on the grid wouldn't have been good, but what we see today is even worse. I don't know who makes these decisions at Ferrari, but constant management failure gives no hope of success. They have 2 good drivers, and probably the 3rd faster car, but they keep messing up!
LEFT driveshaft? Didn't they hit on the *right* side? I've been seeing for 1.5 years: Ferrari race strategy: "Keep our cars away from the front". Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Ferrari's pit wall isn't that good. Let the DVR watch. I'm disgusted. (If Sainz doesn't lose 2 or 3 spaces at the start, watch for Ferrari to pit him four times.)
Even if I am a fan of Charles, I must admit that the origin of problems is his own mistake. Not everything can be blamed on Ferrari.
We should know, by now, that Ferrari is never forthcoming with truth about their cars. "Left driveshaft" could mean anything from "we messed up the setup" to "we don't want to look like bad guys" to "we're still punishing ourselves for the investigation into our engine power several years ago". We've seen a lot of improbable "reasons" from Ferrari for a failure, over the years. (Remember Kimi's retirements?)
