Wow, unbelievable! How about learning how to do a fast out lap so you can execute an undercut? I think this is uncharted area for Lewis to have competition from outside his own team and that he can’t control.
Some long straights are also on order. See the track map. I would think RedBull is favored but its not at all Monaco overall.
Nope. It's Baku. Turn 16 all the way thru Turn 20 is flat out "pedal to the metal" and full ERS deployment. Minimal to low downforce track. I expect a Mercedes front row lock-out.
Monaco remains a peculiarity in a world championship. Soon Mercedes will resume its program. I remain convinced that their reliability remains their best asset against a competitor that is getting closer in terms of performance.
Ham qualified 7th, two cars in front of him were removed, and he finished .... 7th. But they got him a "new track record" of 1:12.9. Compared to Leclerc's 1:10.4 in Q3. And sky still thinks someone was going to top that? Heck, does Monaco quali *ever* end in green? *Somebody* was going to hit a barrier. Probably Ham. Remember Ham hitting a barrier in 2008 in the race? (And he still won, due to some great work by his team, and lousy race strategy by Ferrari.) Canada has the "wall of champions". Monaco has had people hit every barrier. (I remember Senna stuffing it into the barrier at the tunnel entrance when he was half a lap ahead.) The only on-track pass was the two Haas cars at the back. Indy has their parade next weekend. This was the Monaco parade. Good thing about DVRs: When I get bored, I can hit pause and go do something else for a while. (And then fast-forward during the boring bits.)
That's a narrow view. If the FIA decides to keep the same rules, but to review the testing methods, Red Bull will have to comply. I think Red Bull ( and a few others) are making hay while the sun shines.
Put the output on this from RedBull instead of Mercedes - they would do as Toto stated today. This is F1 political/techno fun!
We learned one thing for sure with this race: Serena Williams is the worst checkered flag waiver in the world.
Not since 2017/2018 seasons lol. Hamilton has never been a “good loser”. No surprises here. It sounds like Merc out-foxed themselves this weekend and he’s not too happy. They seem to bounce back well though.
A Brit F1 fan offered this on the BBC: Darkman 16:21 2020 was the best F1 season ever, because Monaco wasn't in it.
