I haven't been able to find this in stock, and to me it looks like an incredibly easy piece to fabricate. Like 15 mins with a band saw and drill. It's the "gasket" (it looks from pics like a plastic spacer) that goes under the shifter gate. I think the only measurement I need is its exact thickness and what it's made of (plastic, rubber, something else?). Many thanks in advance if you can assist.

So even places who say it's in stock, it's not really in stock? Looks beveled to me and something you'd want made out of some sort of composite or plastic/nylon--not metal.

Isn't it the same size as the shift gate with the same holes? Measure that? The bevel is for the shift throw angle to prevent hitting the corners.

Do you not have the original from your car? Very easy to take out and measure.

Also try GT Car Parts in Phoenix, AZ. If he doesn't have a new one, he will certainly have good used ones.

That looks like it would be a good part to 3D print.

My car (right now) is an F1

I just need the thickness, not the outside dimensions. It's literally a square piece of plastic with rounded corners and four holes drilled in it. I probably won't spend $100+ on it even if I could find one in stock somewhere. I just need to know how thick it is.

I was able to measure it without even removing anything, fairly accurate, I'm sure it's exactly 10 mm

This is timely as I just replaced mine this past weekend. To those who asked . . . no, the part isn't available. I checked in the US and the UK to no avail. Was told by Ricambi, Superformance, Rutlands, and Eurospares that it's NLA.

But as others have said, it's a super easy part to fabricate. I made mine from some black HDPE (ordered from Amazon) using the same tools that I'd use to cut/drill wood (mainly a chop saw, drill press, jigsaw, and Forstner bits). The HDPE still has a bit of give, yet is far stronger than the OEM part. My OEM piece seemed determined to return to its molecular state as the damn thing disintegrated into plastic crumbs.

I did have to source 1/2" thick HDPE. But I also have a wood planer. So shaving off some thickness (~2-3mm) wasn't an issue.

We have those actively in design/testing for re-manufacture. No ETA presently, but they will be available again as a reproduction (stronger!) part.

What do you guys think would be an acceptable material? I don't have a wood planer unfortunately and would like to keep this simple. Does that part do anything other than act as a 10mm spacer between the shift gate and shifter housing? Could I go wrong using a 10mm thick piece of plexiglass and spray painting it black? Plexi is durable and really easy to work with.

Edit: found a piece of black HPDE:

Any reason to go with one over the other? I'm not a plastics specialist.

90% of it is not visible, so it doesn't really matter only a little bit of the inside edge.. Make it smooth and paint it black.
However If I remember correctly, it does appear that it cushions The shifter from hitting the side when you go into reverse. I will have to double check that

Well I had an unexpectedly take my shifter apart while driving today lol.

Turns out my 9-month-old brand new from ricombi shifter gasket has deteriorated as well.

So anyway I was able to take it out and take an accurate measurement. It is 12 mm

If someone could post the complete specs, we can design it as a STL file in Blender or SketchUp. It can then be edited or printed by anyone with a printer or even uploaded to a printing service.

    What exactly do you need?
I just epoxied mine back together, but I'm sure it's going to break again in different spots

Ken can you add precise dimensions in mm to your sketch? All the relevant internal and external dimensions as measured with a caliper. Ken2, is that enough to create a file and print a run of parts? I am eager for this.

Yeah that should be it. Just need the complete dimensions via caliper.

I can clarify any of the dimensions, I just did this real quick before work.

Just note, the front and back edges are thinner on the top at only 12 mm, and thicker on the bottom at 14.5 mm. Otherwise it's relatively symmetrical

I have a formlabs 3D printer if someone can put together an STL file. I would be happy to print a run of them. I will donate the material if people would cover shipping and make a donation to Fchat :)

Cool! Let me know if you need any clarifications on the specifications, I know that was a really rough rough sketch lol.
