I am considering moving from a 575 to a GTC4/Lusso . My question is which one would you choose for normal GT type driving, smoothness & ride quality is a priority over maximum performance but I am an active FCA event participant !

The stories I read here about the PTU on the AWD would scare me off the 12 and in to the turbo 8. I've also read some here say the V8 is a bit more sporty of a drive. Of course, if sound is important to you, then it's got to be a V12...T

I liked the FF more than the Lusso, the Lusso v12 to me was underwhelming. The 8 is sportier but lacks the sound. You will lose the AWD and rear steering though. With this said if I had to choose I would probably get the 12. Are you confused now?

I would think coming from a V12 you'd want a V12 in the replacement. It seems both cars are well done.

    Disclosure
    Had FF have Lusso12.
    Had F12 have 812.

    I like 12s.

That said the 8 is “sportier but quieter “ which can be rectified.

Values on the 8 are softer but in this market who knows what that means.

I do not need awd. But it is not all time all awd. PTU fix is non issue if under warranty or use independent.

For me going from FF/F12 the 8 felt anemic despite being sportier.

Drive both. If it doesn’t matter then get an amazing spec 8,save some dollars and go from there.

Drive both. I did and before driving wanted the 12 as most do. But it just isn’t spectacular in the Lusso. The 8 felt more nimble, turned quicker, better powerband, bullet proof. Just lacks some soul and sound, but performs well and i can’t image a better daily driver. I look for excuses to run errands.

Putting a capristo on my V8 soon to see if that helps a bit.

Looked at both V8 Lussos and V12 Lussos. Ended up with a V12. Sound, overall feel, AWD. Did i already mention the V12? ;-)

Looked at both, decided on a V12. I found that some of the visual options I wanted (front grille edges, etc) were not spec'd on V8s, and I couldn't say no to the V12 scream.

I have the 12 and have had a PTU problem with replacement. It was quite the ordeal even when replaced under warranty.

If I had to do it all over again there would be no question. It would be the 12. It will always be a 12 over a turbo 8. Always.

completely agreed on assessment. Unless it's NA V8, it's no comparison to the NA V12. I bet $100 to you will want to sell the turbo V8 after you get the F8 or V8 Lusso coming from 575.

V12 always but to be honest I think the ff/lusso 12 cylinders lack torque for me.
I love the sound of the car, I really do and it’s impressive performance wise but poor tech on both vs competition and poor build quality are hard to swallow

You lose the AWD but keep the rear wheel steering.

some users have had some PTU failures. Covered under warranty when applicable, but up to 40KUSD out of warranty. There is now a permanent fix from a couple of shops in the US and the UK, I believe the cost for the permanent fix is 10-15KUSD. The failure is still affecting a very low proportion of cars though, at least from what we see in this forum.

Well I got an FF and I almost bought a lusso and the tech compared to the competition is crap. Loving Ferraris like I do doesn’t make me blind. Virtually every competitor has more tech.
PTU issues , u call that quality
