I think Walter and I would agree there are as many rich car book authors as there are honest politicians...there is a reason why we also broker classic cars and Maseratis each in our specialized segment: it is not nearly as interesting as research and writing but pays a lot better!
Originally silver over red yes? It will look even more spectacular. My recently purchased Mexico was also 'treated' to the red over tan treatment in the 80's.... will be undone in the coming years as well! Enjoy it.
Had an unfortunate 2 hour break this past weekend on the side of the road....But at least a kind person stopped by and offered him a snack! (ended up being a disconnected ignition piece, easily fixed once found) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

The quality of the resto of this car is fantastic. Unfortunately, the celebrity owner chosed a completely wrong color! As far as I recal this is/was a Mercedes color of the 90s or later... Originally the car was ivory white. Furthermore the car had a logo of a local Italian Scuderia on both sides (front fenders). The restorer tried to save these logos but was told by the owner to ignore it. Sorry to say, but this great car looks now somehow Drag Queen to me...
In a crude attempt at a crass commercial announcement I hereby post this website address. Ciao, FGM https://www.vignalespyder.com
Lovely car, I also really like the floor are those 48" X 24 inch tiles? If so we just use the same color tiles in our Palm springs home, and I am about to use them in my new garage here on Mercer Island in Washington State. Question, how many right hand drive home Vignale's do you think there are in Australia? I would like to feature your car on my https://www.vignalespyder.com website. If you're interested please send me information about the car and additional photos. Ciao, FGM
Loverly car, is this the car that was sold at auction recently at the Sydney Harbour Concours d'Elegance, congratulations if so?
Last week I showed my Vignale Spyder to Tom - a local collector who had expressed an interest in knowing more about it and taking it for a test drive. He very much enjoyed the car and when I let him drive it he took to it like a duck to water. I suspect that was because he owns a BMW 507 Spyder which has the same ZF S417 transmission as my Vignale, which of course has the ZF S5 17. A few days went by and Tom eventually decided regretfully, that it was not for him at this time. I asked him if he would mind taping a short video with his impressions of the car and this is the result. When watching the video note all the garage doors how they snap up all at once! It was very nice of him to do this and as you can see he is a very serious collector. Ciao, FGM
I have not had the original seats in my car since the interior was trimmed several years ago. Since I drive the car a lot I had special sport seats installed which make it much more comfortable to drive on long road tours. Since I am selling the car I have now reinstalled the original seats and here are the first photos to be published.
