1988.5 Ferrari 328 GTS Vin: 76629 Up for sale is our pristine 1988.5 Ferrari 328 GTS in the stunning combination of rosso corsa on black. This truly exceptional 328 is a time capsule with only 12,950 miles (20,880 kilometers) from new. This car has been lovingly maintained and continues to be in its original condition with the paint, interior (seats, carpets, dash), wheels and tires, along with the brake rotors and calipers presenting like new. It’s simply astonishing how it looks and drives the same as the day of delivery. This car was first delivered to Luigi Sports Cars, the first Ferrari Dealer in Canada which was owned by the famous Luigi Della Grotta. The car was purchased new and owned for over 20 years by Mr. Paul Luciani, the brother of Mr. Camillo Luciani, owner of Luciani Automobiles (Acura, Infiniti). It was subsequently purchased by Mr. Remo Ferri (owner of Ferrari of Ontario) for his private collection. We became the third (or second private) owners' in 2014 and have averaged 109 miles (174 km) per year. It has been stored under cover in a climate controlled garage. This particular model is quite rare in that it is believed to be the first 1988.5 to be delivered to North America and only the fourth production car of the 1988.5 updated model with improved suspension, convex wheels along with some minor interior and exterior changes. SN 76629 is quite unique in that it does not have ABS as this was an option for the first run of 88.5 GTS cars. The front integrated bumperettes were only on Canadian delivery vehicles, making this car even more rare and special. It also won the Coppa Bella Macchina and was awarded First Place in the Preservation Class. To be awarded Platino, a car must score above 97 points. It then qualifies for the Coppa Bella. To receive the Coppa Bella, a car must demonstrate that everything is functional and score a perfect 100. Everything works in the car without exception and the A/C also blows cold. It is arguably one of the nicest examples of a late model GTS in existence. Very nice car. To my knowledge #76629 is the second "US" spec 328 and indeed the 4th "second serie" built : The very first is GTB #76626 then GTS #76627, #76628 and #76629. #76628 is also an US GTS located ( still ? ) in Canada That would be very interesting to know the body number of this car. Are you able to disclose it ?
Are the 328s actualy built sequentially? I didn't think they started doing vins in order until the 355 but I may totally be mistaken here.
Pretty sure 355 VINs weren't in order either, at least at the beginning of the production run. That 328 looks great! Would that I were in the market...
You can find it in 3 places, at least. Most of the time the best way is in the engine bay. On picture below, read it with your head tilted down when you are on the side of the car. Also on front and rear bonnet, I will post pictures if you need Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not really. The frame was built by Scaglietti ( where the body number was stamped ) and send to Ferrari where ( of course ) the car where built but the Serial number don't following the built number. @nerofer should explain it better than me in English
You explained it quite well for what its worth Any idea when ferrari did start producing cars in sequence (if ever)?
