458 and 488 challenge computers

You have to buy from ferrari, the VCI is 4-5k, and it tied to your car, you can't use it on other 488c.
Then you have to get the software to diagnose with your computer another 4-5k. that you can use on multiple 488c only.

 

I just bought the 458 challenge vci $14000.00

 

The 488 came with there there own only to be used on that car.

Neither the 458 or the 488 tester are tied to a single car. The Challenge series may want you to permanently pair them to a car but there is nothing stopping you from using the units on any number of cars you wish. I am supporting multiple cars and only have one unit.

 

Our Autel OBD computer had the 458C protocols in it…I had the VCI as well. The ONLY thing I didn’t see available on the autel was resetting the CCM wear alto. Everything else was there.

 

You cannot get into the dashboard with the Autel. You may be able to go into body computer and reconfigure it to steel brakes which eliminates the brake wear alarm.

 

Is the maintenance manual etc in the VCI computer?

 

no you would still need access to a dealer level software for that
