Probably more than you would like to know about the 1892, but:

Export for firearms, optics, and instruments of war was handled by the Dept of Commerce. This is no longer the case.

Understand The ITAR - DDTC Public Portal (state.gov)

You cannot export without a valid permit.

The permits are a pain in the ass to obtain.

The State Department handles the exports. ITAR.

ITAR is not something to ignore or mess with.
Locally in Tacoma, WA, a few years ago, a US Army officer, was shipping ACOG and EoTech scopes to a contact in Japan that was selling them to airsoft players (a popular sport in Japan). This was in violation of ITAR and he knew it. I assume he figured no big deal, he's not selling to terrorists or a hostile military. US Attorney made an example out of him...lost his commission and sent to federal prison for several years. He was caught by Japanese customs officers, that intercepted one of his packages...he was regularly shipping to Japan. Apparently these optics are super hard to come by there, and collectors pay top dollar, so he made a bunch, cause he was doing it for over a year.

Submachine gun FN Herstal PS 90 16" - KLB ARMORY (klbarmes.com)

It's $1700 retail in the USA.

Look at the retail price in France.

    It's a no go.

Once you deduct the VAT (20%) and account for the €/$ exchange rate, that's $2,300. I guess it's fair given the local market is nothing like here.

I am not sure. Perhaps it is difficult for a civilian to obtain the Category B license in France.

Just over a year ago the exchange rate was 1.08 euros to the dollar and the imported wholesale items were reasonably priced.

All the imported items attached to the euro that move will have to raise prices.

$2k for a centerfire M9 is pretty bloody steep; this one's a .22lr though so it's a lot less. Not sure where you're shopping but yeah, $2k is way too high for an M9.
