Dear Pierre, Thank you for the photos. What are you driving this year? How many MM's does this make for you? Best regards, Robert
Driving my 1938 MM Class winner Alfa Romeo . This will be MM number 12 this year! All the best to you and hope to see you around Pebble Beach if we manage to make it ( to enter US!) Pierre
I hesitated as I did not want to be off subject. but there is a twist, my car was prepared for the 1938 and 39 seasons by Alfa Corse who was run by Enzo. And the engine for the 1939 season was enlarged to 2500cc. It was derived from the 2500 Alfa But had the number Image Unavailable, Please Login 256 2/T ( the car has still the plate with the engine number, sadly no longer this engine). So we will all recognize with the nomenclature 256 the touch of Enzo, 6 cyl and 2.5 L.
Thank you, Sir, for indulging us mere mortals. Absolutely lovely and I would think with the Alfa Corse/Enzo “twist”, more than appropriate for the subject topic. I hope you won’t mind me asking, but what is a relatively comfortable (high) cruising speed with something like this ? And handling characteristics when compared to other similar cars of the period (I assume you might have some reference experiences, right ?)
815001 to be precise now some of the MM Ferrari covered with dust and used as they were intended for. Missing the more recent one as they start later and we don’t see them as they drive several hours after the smaller numbers . Still I saw tonight the 375MM but did not manage to take a picture!
